Yeast is pitched on the Hazard 9 Dubbel 🍺 OG 1.075 with 75.8% brewhouse efficiency. Propagate Belgian Ale II, fermenter at 66°F — now the yeast does the heavy lifting. Recipe: https://share.brewfather.app/f2wH55OQVqvt8p #homebrewing #beer #brewsky

Direct Pharmacological Activation of <fc>AMPK</fc> Extends Lifespan in Yeast, Worms and Flies
AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a key evolutionarily conserved sensor of energy homeostasis, which is implicated in metabolic health and disease, as well as in ageing. Here, we show that direc...

Thank you! It's similar to The Naan (Vancouver, BC) version of miso gravy that I cobbled together. I add ginger and garlic, as well as sesame oil, nutritional yeast, brown rice flour (you can use any flour), cornstarch, and veg stock, and a bit of chili oil.

Neat. Yeast can produce all sorts of proteins and small molecules, but starch is new.

Though not cost-effective, yeast could replace much of agriculture. Important for space and scenarios where agriculture fails.

This could be really interesting for getting starch out of bioreactors, aboard spacecraft or small-volume habitats/shelters.

Not sure if it's worse than the all-time worst Martin Lawrence who went off script and started making jokes about women having yeast infections and coming up with a croissant on his lip after going down, but yeah - it was really bad.

Finished the primary fermentation on my mango-habanero cider and cleared out the dead yeast. It went from 1.14 OG to 1.01, so...17% ABV? It's good....HOT, as you would expect, but not unpleasantly so, at least for me. You can definitely taste both the main ingredients. #homebrew

Does yeast continue to grow in dark moist places? I feel like you can jar it up just like that yt women jars up farts

Lichens hid a third partner for 150 years: a yeast in the cortex of Bryoria. Its discoverer long took it for contamination, which is the trap - a genuinely new component looks exactly like an intruder. The summaries then said "most lichens"; a 339-species survey found it in under 3%.
