#afib-Related
The cardiology version of this is that Afib (atrial fibrillation) gets abbreviated as AF, and so lots of related clinical trials end with -AF, which makes Afib trials seem metal as, well, metal AF.

Health risks related to exogenous testosterone use…stimulates red blood cell production which can elevate the risk of blood clots and cardiovascular strain. May stimulate benign prostatic hyperplasia or the growth of existing prostate cancer. Can cause non lethal heart arrhythmias (afib).

This is was likely Afib related; he'd likely be dead if it was ventricular

I was diagnosed with onset of AFib the week before Thanksgiving. The ER doc said it was 'age related'. Seems like everything damn thing for me is age related now.

My choice as well.

On a related note, my Mom went in for a cardio version this morning. (She has Afib like me)

I knew it was a minor procedure, but I took the day off and spent the entire time talking with her until visiting hours were over.

Never take tomorrow for granted. 🙏❤️

I’m caffeinating now to get ahead of my future exercise and HTN related AFib.
jama.com JAMA @jama.com · Nov 9
RCT: Patients with #AFib who continued their usual caffeinated coffee intake after cardioversion experienced less recurrence of AF or atrial flutter compared to those who abstained from coffee and caffeine.

"These days I'm living with a higher risk of stroke related to AFIB not caused by a heart valve problem"
"I've had it with my moderate to severe plaque psoriasis."

Like, HELLO?! No one talks like that!

US healthcare sucks, his surgery last Thursday was on his left shoulder (so radiating pain was attributed to that), and he's had stress-related AFib for years, off and on. I worry because AFib raises your chance for a stroke and the poor guy already has a freaking brain tumor 😓

I am one person who suffered life-endangering pumonary emboli after Covid. Three years ago. Now have AFIB that is covid related.

Fortunately I had the vaccines or it could have been much worse.

As far as I know, vfib is always pulseless.

It was pretty trippy and made everyone VERY uncomfortable. He was on the pads, of course.

Most synchronized cardioversions are related to afib, in my experience.

If you are not tested, as most aren't, and you die from a symptom that "maybe" Covid related like a stroke, Afib, brain haemorrhage etc it won't be added to Death Certificate. A Trump special - no test, no Covid.

A little health update: My hernia operation yesterday went well and the Doctors and Nurses at KGH were amazing.
While I was in recovery, the health team found some irregularities in my heart rate called Afib. Not dramatic and probably related to the physical stress of the operation.

I suffer from a dibilating panic disorder, tachycardia, and AFIB. Related? Probably. And I just had the most horrific 50-mile drive home of my life. But when I was within 6 miles of home, I saw this and had to stop for photos. Wow!

A while back I started watching a bunch of health/heart related content to learn a bit about afib/atrial flutter and I've since become radicalized and obsessed with how much fiber I am eating (probably not enough)

A new computational model predicts patient responses to neurostimulation, supporting the development of personalized therapies for atrial fibrillation and related cardiac conditions. doi.org/g98g2d
Computational model helps personalize neurostimulation therapy for atrial fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a cardiac disorder in which the chambers of the heart beat rapidly and irregularly. It's the most common type of arrhythmia and the leading cardiac cause of stroke.

Absolutely agree. We need to maintain a vigilant focus on heart health, specifically related to Afib and arrhythmia. Diet, exercise, and monitoring are key aspects.

That’s strange, usually a person doesn’t just go into an abnormal rhythm just once. Both of my parents had their strokes related to AFib. Once your insurance kicks in get your heart checked
June 19, 2025 at 11:13 AM
Aside from when I went to afib a couple of years ago, likely due to too much coffee and job related stress, my blood pressure has been great and I have propranolol to help manage my heart rate.

Social inequities in atrial fibrillation survival remain unchanged over 20 years, finds study
Atrial fibrillation, also known as AF or Afib, is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases. In fact, one in three individuals can expect to be diagnosed with the condition, which increases the risk of serious complications such as heart failure and stroke.
