I transfered my domain from Amazon Route53 to Cloudflare yesterday and it went off without a hitch. My ProtonMail still works any everything. I think I must be dreaming.

The larger/less retail (more wholesale) you go, the better, IMHO.

Look at @hover.com, @cloudflare.social, Amazon AWS Route 53 docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/late... and other B2B (business to business) registrars.

They are sometimes not the most layperson friendly, but IME they have the best service.

🆕 Amazon CloudWatch Logs launches the ability to transform and enrich logs

#AWS #AmazonCloudwatchLogs
Amazon CloudWatch Logs launches the ability to transform and enrich logs
Amazon CloudWatch Logs announces log transformation and enrichment to improve log analytics at scale with consistent, and context-rich format. Customers can add structure to their logs using pre-configured templates for common AWS services such as AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF), Route53, or build custom transformers with native parsers such as Grok. Customers can also rename existing attributes and add additional metadata to their logs such as accountId, and region. Logs emitted from various sources vary widely in format and attribute names, which makes analysis across sources cumbersome. With today’s launch, customers can simplify their log analytics experience by transforming all their logs into a standardized JSON structure. Transformed logs can be leveraged to accelerate analytics experience using field indexes, discovered fields in CloudWatch Logs Insights, provide flexibility in alarming using metric filters and forwarding via subscription filters. Customers can manage log transformations natively within CloudWatch without needing to setup complex pipelines. Log transformation and enrichment capability is available in all AWS Commercial Regions, and included with existing Standard log class ingestion price. Logs Store (Archival) costs will be based on log size after transformation, which may exceed the original log volume. With a few clicks in the Amazon CloudWatch Console, customers can configure transformers at log group level. Alternatively, customers can setup transformers at account, or log group level using AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI), AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK), and AWS SDKs. Read the documentation to learn more about this capability.

Improving security and performance with additional DNS resource record types in Amazon Route 53 | Amazon Web Services
DNS is a key component of modern computing, a phone book for IP addresses. It is distinct from other protocols in the application stack. Because it is queried early in the request by a client, DNS is well suited to relay application-specific information back to a client as early as possible. This additional data can […]

For anyone interested in buying custom domain for custom bsky handle but don't know where, go to https://tld-list.com and https://tldes.com. Sort and pay attention to renewal fee, not just 1st year fee. Plenty of dirt cheap tld out there like .ovh on https://ovh.com and .click on Amazon Route53.

there are definitely options -- i know off the top of my head that easydns or amazon route53 could do it. the https method (serve a response under `/.well-known/atproto-did`) might work great here though.

Amazon Route 53 Resolver now supports AWS PrivateLink
Amazon Route 53 Resolver now supports https://aws.amazon.com/privatelink/. Customers can now access and manage https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/DeveloperGuide/resolver.html and all the related features (Resolver endpoints, Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall, Resolver Query Logging, Resolver for AWS Outposts) privately, without going through the public internet. AWS PrivateLink provides private connectivity between VPCs, AWS services, and on-premises applications, securely over the Amazon network. When Route 53 Resolver and its features are accessed via AWS PrivateLink, all operations, such as creating, deleting, editing, and listing, can be handled via the Amazon private network.  Amazon Route 53 Resolver responds recursively to DNS queries from AWS resources for public records, Amazon VPC-specific DNS names, and Amazon Route 53 private hosted zones, and is available by default in all VPCs. Route 53 Resolver also offers features (Resolver endpoints, Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall, Resolver Query Logging, Resolver for AWS Outposts) that you can opt-into. You can use Resolver and its features with AWS PrivateLink in regions where Route 53 Resolver and all its associated features are available today, including the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. For more information about the AWS Regions where Resolver and its features are available, see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/r53.html. To learn more about Route 53 Resolver and its features, please refer to the service https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/APIReference/API_Operations_Amazon_Route_53_Resolver.html.
