Takanobu had accepted his own bias, the ace had caught his eyes because of volleyball, and his volleyball had become an obsession for Takanobu.

No, I didn't have for the exchange this weekend. Yes, I still treated with my top 3 Asahi ships (in that order) because people had asked for them all.

And yes, I even posted without making half as many edits as I would have felt comfortable about.
I'm just normal about AsaBoku, AoAsa, & AsaBoku.

As the scene that convinced me to write #WhiteTrail, this will always have a special place for me. (also one of the moments that during manga reread proved I do understand where Furudate was going with Asahi the character)

#AoAsa #WIP #wipWednesday
haikyuu fic text screenshot: Just when Asahi thought he had given the enemy perfect reason for looking down on him, Aone smiled, and pointed to the hallways with the juice box still in his hand. “I walk,” said the Date Tech blocker, “like all around, learn the territory.” He had prepared himself for a lot this morning, sharing dirty secrets with their enemy had not been among them. He had to let out a short laugh in relief, this was much more normal than anything he had expected of the first day of the tournament. “That makes perfect sense to me,” he said, partially to let Aone know he was not laughing at him. Aone smiled, and Asahi saw that he did have eyebrows, white like his hair but there. “Scary chemistry makes sense, too,” said Aone, and Asahi had to laugh at the innuendo of how the second round match was perfectly described by scary chemistry between himself and the iron wall. He theatrically dumped his chemistry into his backpack with minimal care and stood up.

I had to sieve through many impressions, expressions, and pressures to get this #WIPSnip. #WhiteTrail, of course. (Haikyuu vampire AU in the comment)

fic text screenshot: It was nothing like how he and Mao had hugged after the girls' loss. For one thing, Aone was taller, and as much as Asahi would have wanted to, he could not hold all of the albino to his chest. Even though it was harder, considering the broad back, Asahi pressed the torso as tightly to his own as he could, without the need to show any consideration for the force of his hands over Aone's opposing side and shoulder. He could hardly believe how easily Aone slid into his embrace. Despite his size, he took his place in Asahi's arms and against his shoulders like he belonged there, like Asahi had been made to accommodate his physique. Back in June, Asahi had not known what to do with Mao in his arms, had felt obligated to console her and be what she had needed at that moment.

Someone's unlocked Kita!

Also yeay for nominations.

P.S. I feel like it's cheating if I gift AoAsa date night, considering that their Valentine's Day chapter will be out in a few weeks.

#ficwip heard me saying #WhiteTrail was gonna hit 250k before the end of the month and took inspiration for this #wordgameswednesday.

So, in a very Asahi fashion, I'm answering this with a snip from my haikyuu WIP White Trail which contains decades of high school nostalgia for me.

#AoAsa
fic text screenshot: In Saitama their world grew, it truly extended beyond Karasuno, Sendai, or Miyagi. Their acceptance into the familial bonds of the Fukurōdani academy group made their world grow beyond just volleyball. The old rivalry with Nekoma now felt something like a siblings' quarrel. Their fallen volleyball club took flight, and extended. There were people excited to see them in flight, just like how the country boys were excited to see the city slickers — as Tanaka loved to say — change and grow with them. Asahi felt safe, even when he was stuffed, even when his spikes were digged, even when he failed a receive, he was safe. There were always people walking beside him, on their own trail to the top, but still walking right beside him. No one stopped, no one stayed behind, and they surrounded him all the way to new heights.

#wipWednesday:

I just realised that most probably in less than two weeks time my first ever #fanfiction, a haikyuu longfic featureing the rare pair #AoAsa will have reached 250k published words. I know it doesn't make it good but it makes me consistent. I mean business with these two.

More #WhiteTrail #WIPSnips after an eternity. I'll try to do more, and update graphics of the posted #AoAsa chapters.

I use code format for text messages, that's why some words are in red. On AO3 all have the same colour.

haikyuu fic screenshot: I knew that The answer came too quickly, followed by yes I mean no I mean no, I didn't think about it Do you want to be gay? The fact that the texts were typed and sent with almost zero thought behind them was a relief. If his friend had any aversion, the messages would have been more coherent, he would have already put thought into people being gay or talking about gays. It made Takanobu take the question seriously. Everything considered, did he really want to be gay. The answer made him happy.

#wipWednesday
#AoAsa
haikyuu fic text screenshot: “There you are!” said Asahi san. He sounded a little mechanical, like he was feeling the same fast heartbeat hammering in his chest and his skull as Takanobu, and had said it just to hear something different from the sound of his own heart. Takanobu slightly bowed his head in greeting while walking up to him. After stowing away the beanie that Takanobu had never seen before, Asahi san stood a step away from the wall. Takanobu was almost certain that he would need that empty spot by the wall once he stopped walking. When Asahi san was rubbing the back of his neck and twirled a long strand of beautiful dark hair around his middle finger in the process, and Takanobu feared that without support, he would topple and fall like a bicycle.

True, I was just blinded by AoAsa here, cause even not ship-wise, it totally looks like Aone is staring Asahi down.

There are some UshiAsa interpretations I've enjoyed.

Curse this death curse to everything that is good and worth living for!

My wipSnip is Platonic, though, haahahaa, because it's from my AoAsa fic and that's not an “everyone's gay” kind of AU.

Guess what comes up a lot when you're writing a canon compliant haikyuu longfic! This one focuses on the UshiOi rivalry (Platonic).

For those who know: Yes, I'm getting that dream team together in #WhiteTrail, just for my own enjoyment.

AoAsa fic text screenshot: Takkun had told Asahi about having caught up to Hinata during the qualifiers, only to see him sandwiched between Ushiwaka and Oikawa. It was not like Asahi could not have imagined their rivalry when the two had faced each other in so many Miyagi tourney final games over the years. Being caught in the middle of it, and having the guess monster as a commentator on top of that, went beyond just understanding the tension. Oikawa's sets to Ushijima were different from the rest. It was subtle. Without their Kanto training camps and the close experience of different setters, Asahi would not have been able to tell. Oikawa's sets to the Ushiwaka were slightly better. It did not look like he thought the national star deserved better than the others, though. The sets he tossed to his rival were decided a littler faster than the ones Oikawa sent to the rest of them.

This I could still do with one hand, unlike fic-writing and editing.

One of my all-time favourite AsaNoya friendship headcanons, from #WhiteTrail. (If you're writing a looong #AoAsa fic, you get to pack more than a few headcanons in it)
haikyuu fic screenshot: He missed them, so he made sure to rewrite the letter a few times and took extra care with his handwriting for the final version. This was not a real apology for the actual people he had hurt, it was not that difficult to fake. He was sorry about the incident in the hallway anyway, truly sorry that he had gotten Nishinoya suspended and banned from club activity, and making up different reasons and writing them for someone as inconsequential in the whole affair as the VP was not that hard, even though he fantasized nagging about it to his – hopefully still – friends one day. He had tried to be as bold and daring as Nishi, had tried to speak up, and had instead said things he had not really meant.

In my AoAsa fic, Washio tells Asahi (they're friends) how he sometimes lifts Bokuto up on his arms just as a way to lift his spirit, and even teaches Asahi the trick. I love imagining these sorts of close friendship titbits.

It's been a while since I've done #WIPSnips. It's another one from #WhiteTrail and befitting the beginning of pride month, it's Asahi coming out to an older brother figure.

White Trail is my AoAsa longfic. Over 200k words already posted.
haikyuu fic text screenshot: “That's as far as I could tell,” answered Yuki nii, holding up both hands in submission, “which also means I don't have any tips for you beyond what we've talked about. Maybe be extra careful whom you pick for sex? With girls, I always assumed it'd be someone from school or so, but it's harder to meet boys like that. Knowing the guy too well and not knowing him well enough could both be complicated.” Asahi was not ready for Yuki nii to be so prepared for this conversation, not ready for him not acting surprised or at least asking Asahi how he was so sure he wanted sex with a boy. He had come here expecting to explain himself before they got to the gay sex. Yuki nii was still smiling, and only now he took his hand off of Asahi's shoulder. Asahi's fingers around the condom pack finally relaxed. “I,” said Asahi, uncertain how to respond.

#AoAsa or any other ship or character at the centre of a fic, I can't not make Noya a huge deal as long as he exists there.

Am I saying read 200k+ words of self gratification because Nishinoya in chapter 88 is worth it?

To anyone who knows a little of what I've been through since early Jan I'll say this: I've been smiling & laughing the whole time I drafted it.

Harbinger of chaos with a heart of gold & sweet ice lolly.

Truly his day today after this art came out (I take it that it came out yesterday), and the 1st years' third year art, getting people to say that in honour of Nishinoya, Karasuno reserved no 4 for libero.

Plus me drafting the #WhiteTrail chapter that's mainly Noya the chaos master appreciation!

Lately I've been feeling like the #WhiteTrail main story starts after spring tourney, which is definitely the wrong way of looking at it. Maybe because I feel like that's when I can own everything that happens to #AoAsa, since none of them are really the focus of timeskip era, or what comes after.

They would have understood why Takanobu wanted this boy over every girl out there.
