... Good talk, everybody. 😅

Seriously though, I've heard that maybe it depends on the genre..? Do you all notice that lighter reading needs matte, but epic fantasy or sci-fi need gloss? Anyone have any thoughts?

Have you ever gotten to a point in your writing where you are about to connect it to a chunk you wrote in your previous draft, but you're hesitant to do it? Not because the before-chunk is bad, but because there's so much pressure to connect the new and old perfectly? #writingcommuntiy #askwriters

What compels you to #write? Where does your desire to craft stories come from?

How do authors just... write in the same genre forever? That feels alien. I don't have twelve supernatural fantasy novels in me. I don't have fifteen darkly humorous psychological dramas in me. If I'm going to write, I want to try a little of everything, you know? #writingcommunity #askwriters

What inspires you most when you're in a writing rut? For me, reading a good book always helps, but honestly listening to music I love is even better. Some that tend to do the trick for me are:
—David Berman
—Mitski
—Radiohead
—Saba
—Talking Heads

Hbu?

#writers who work a full-time job—when do you get your writing in? Before your workday? After?.... During? 🤫

I know I'm a zombie after a day of work, so I'm always up at 5:30 a.m. to get a couple hours of writing in while I still can.

I'm tired of mood boards. What's your main character's leitmotif?

(A leitmotif is a musical theme associated with a character - think their theme song, something that shows up in the score when they do)
