No, trans woman; I did not refer to you as “him”. I said “‘em”, a standard clipping of “them”. Phonetically identical to “‘im” (standard clipping of “him”) due to the /pɛn/→/pɪn/ merger (Labov et al., 2006) in my Southern dialect. I apologize on behalf of the English language?

Nederlands is een Haarlems dialect beïnvloed door Antwerpse vluchtelingen. Antwerpse vluchtelingen die 300 jaar terug net zo'n maatschappelijke deining veroorzaakten als vluchtelingen nu. Niks mis met dialect. Mijn pa kon zich verstaanbaar maken tot achter Kassel, dan zit je al heel ver in Duitsland
Echt oprechte vraag. Ik begrijp dialect nooit en ik vindt dat mensen wat beter hun best moeten doen om correct Nederlands te spreken en schrijven.

The idiom "time flies" is "al woqt sif" in Moroccan dialect which means "time is a sword." There is a longer version of the idion, "Time is a sword, when you cut it it cuts you (al woqt sif, tqta3, yqqtak).
I love the ineffability of idioms, my favorite is "Speak of the Devil." In Spanish it's "Speak of the King of Rome" and in French it's "Speak of the wolf" but the best is Swedish, it's "When you speak of the trolls, they are standing in the hallway."

In Morocco they call standard Arabic, that they use in education & media & to talk to Arabs across the world, "al-lourgha al-arabia," or "the Arabic language," & they call what their dialect that's mutual unintelligible with standard Arabic is "darija."

Helaas werd hij ook het slachtoffer van mijn dialect. Helm wordt al snel eens “nen ellem” en deze ochtend wou die dus “nen emmer, nen emmer!” op zijn hoofd zetten.

In de bosrand bloeide daar in februari al de Affodille, 1000en kleine witte bloemetjes, in lokaal dialect Pourettes genoemd, brenger van het voorjaar.
Vond ik mooi. Vandaar dus Les Pourettes.
Mijn eerste camping was in de Haute Viennes op de grens met de Dordogne.

duolingo is now insisting the Spanish translation of "I am going to go to the museum" is "Voy para el museo." I have never seen para used for "to" in this form anywhere, it should be "a" (or al, in this case) but if there is some dialect where that's right, let me know?
