Did anyone’s folks use “directly” in a similar context?
My grandfather would say he’d be somewhere or do something “dreckly” (directly) and that usually meant he’d do it that day but but maybe not immediately.
“I’ll be there dreckly” could mean 20 minutes or two hours.

Perhaps because I overdid it yesterday but today's ride - up into the big empty bit north of Blair Atholl - felt like the toughest I've done for ages.
My legs just did not want to go on the climb up but glad I persevered as the downhill on the return leg was worth it...
