Figures, my company is changing from CVS to ExpressScripts
November 5, 2026 at 12:43 AM
They never should have been one entity. CVS/Aetna, Optum/UHC, ExpressScripts/Cigna. Big three insurance companies in bed with big three PBMs was/is an economic disaster. I was an insurance broker when these acquisitions began. We saw it coming. Don’t know how anyone couldn’t have.

Yeah….apparently ExpressScripts only checks your allergy list after you start your medication. By 2022 I was on a bunch of contraindicated medications and no pharmacist or doctor even discussed it with me…..like I’m glad I can let go of anger cuz I sure do have good cause to have some.

Try ExpressScripts mail order. Also, why will a pharmacy <cough Safeway/> start filling that prescription if they know they don't have enough to keep providing it to you and when you try to refill they won't be able to give you an ETA?

The 12 plaintiff pharmacies pointed to recurring patterns across drugs, plans and dates to argue the underpayments are the purposeful result of the system #ExpressScripts uses to adjudicate claims. #Arkansas #Litigation #PBM buff.ly/31uWrku
Express Scripts targeted by Arkansas pharmacies in first-of-its-kind lawsuit
Arkansas passed a law last year giving pharmacies the authority to sue PBMs for underpayments. Twelve independent pharmacies are now the first to take advantage of the new enforcement mechanism.

ExpressScripts tried to send me the safety needle this time. If their needles weren’t so crap I would have pulled this one out when it was obvious I hit something. I don’t bleed often. They sent a thicker gauge needle and I tried new batch. Don’t think I nailed the IM part today, just SubQ B12

Print the logos on fabric, make that into a scarecrow?

Like CVS gets you Aetna, Cordavis, Signify, Zinc ...

Cigna gets you Quallent, Evernorth, ExpressScripts Specialty, Ascent...

Consumers are directing their ire at behemoths like #UnitedHealth Group, which includes #OptumRx, the major pharmacy benefit manager, and sprawling networks of doctors. Plus #CVSHealth, which owns #Aetna and #Cigna, which operates #ExpressScripts .

ExpressScripts 2/2. Yearly costs you use when selecting a PartD plan are apparently useless since costs can go up without limit (~9X in my case) with no warning at anytime.
How is it that the USA has the most expensive, least friendly, poorest outcomes (especially if you’re not rich) health care?!

1 more go w/ ExpressScripts-told "Medication prices can fluctuate based on several factors, such as the total cost a pharmacy had to pay the manufacturer when the supplies are restocked. Because your copay on future refills may change, please come back and price before your next refill. 1/2

Told “by” ExpressScripts customer rep that their cost increased (left out “by” in my original post).

Been on this generic Tier 1 BP med since I went on Medicare. Never been this costly! 90d now more than I’ve paid for full year in the past. Will check pricing before next refill & likely dump ExpressScripts.

Tried calling, eventually got to a person, went round & round explaining nothing in meds or plan had changed just the almost 9X cost jump. Finally told ExpressScripts costs went up w/out warning so that is what I must now pay. No idea if true & no reason given for why I wasn’t informed.

When I signed up for my PartD plan blood pressure meds cost was $2.75 which it was for 1st 2 90D refills. Thought latest fill from ExpressScripts at $23.75 must be an error. Got no rational reason via online message app.

How stupid is our health care "system"? My insurance would only preauthorize a prescription through Accredo, the online specialty pharmacy associated with ExpressScripts. The "amount billed" was $4,376.96. (No way to know what insurer paid.)

$67.07 at GoodRX, $40.26 from Cost Plus Drugs.

WTF?

Cignaowns EverNorth, which now owns ExpressScripts, just FYI, y'all.
Internal documents and former company executives revealed how Cigna doctors rejected patients’ claims without opening their files.

“We literally click and submit,” one former company doctor said.

PSA.

For seven years, my employer changed insurance and prescription coverage every single year.

By MILES, the absolute WORST insurance company is United Health Care, and the worst prescription coverage is ExpressScripts.

If you have ANY other option, take it!

The only reason Walgreens does more biz is that big Pharma & expressscripts types of companies will only let you get a 3-mos supply at one time at Walgreens; sometimes your med becomes a Walgreens only available too.

That's frigging infuriating. That's why I prefer prescription by mail stuff like ExpressScripts, but I have no idea if that's even a thing in Australia.
