I understand why politicians and campaigns like polls (they need to know how it’s going and plan how to spend) and media like them (it’s something to talk about) but I’m not sure poll numbers are even a good thing for the rest of us? They might influence behaviors and outcomes any number of ways
People may think if their guy is polling high enough it's safe to stay home.
