This study " found childhood adversity to be just as great or even a greater determinant of mortality inequality as adult behavioural factors", which so much public health focuses on. #HealthInequalities

Me, a public health person, just sitting over here reflecting on the fact that the US has experienced a 7% increase in infant mortality post-Dobbs.

Like, do you realize what that says about this society from an ethical perspective? That we made policy choices that caused this?

Worsening primary care on top of worsening #HealthInequalities. Most deprived decile of areas with 2500 patients per GP when safe limit is considered 1800 - time to shift the dial
The average number of patients to GP is 2300, a safe limit is considered 1800
There are some areas this is so much worse & disproportionately affects areas of deprivation
Closures of practices mean other GPs struggle as it’s virtually impossible to close a list
We need a safe limits for all

📌 An amazing resource and so valuable for those of us researching and advocating on public #HealthInequalities
If you've been wondering where I went: my team in Oxford (60 of us!) build beautiful tools for NHS data. We help researchers work on the whole nation's GP records while protecting - provably - everyone's privacy. It's big potatoes!

Please take a look at my latest blog on #healthinequalities and human rights in the #UK
🏥The right to health should be universal – where everyone has access to quality healthcare, housing, and a healthy environment.

Yet in the UK, health inequalities are widening. It’s time to put rights at the centre of change.
