So things have been pretty quiet on my end for a while, but I've finally been easing my way back into drawing, doodling various Triassic animals for the past couple weeks.
What better way to restart things than to draw the weirdos that evolved after Planet Earth's biggest extinction event, y'know?

Another Triassic oddball: Hypuronector. This little one looks like he has an attitude.
Since the publication of a feather-like crest on related Mirasaura, it’s plausible to imagine other drepanosaurs also having something similar - perhaps they just haven’t been preserved.

In the end, there's simply no consensus. I had intended to continue this thread talking about hindlimbs, but it's less important.
Terrestrial pointing does not mean exclusively ground-bound; Drepanosaurus was likely fossorial, most of the others likely favored ground-to-trees.

There are a host of drepanosaurs known only from second-finger claws (three others *named*, in fact) that show the morphology is hardly unique to this one animal, putting Megalancosaurus to the outlier with its splayed fingers. That Hypuronector is in fact a longisquamid is a possibility.

The humerus in most drepanosauromorphans is elongated, slender, and straight. In typical sprawling forelimbs, the humerus has a twist in the middle and a strong curvature, forming an S where the proximal end is reflected backwards and the distal end, for the elbow, forwards.

Toothless tips might be present in two drepanosaurs (Hypuronector, Mirasaura), there's teeth at the tips in another (Megalanco), which represents the basal condition, and thus better to work from when dealing with unknowns, even if Hypuronector comes out as a longisquamid.

I see (although I couldn't tell if thats really the case with Hypuronector since its comparatively more disarticulated). Can I ask why the teeth of your skull run all the way to the end of the snout, instead of stopping halfway like Mirasaura?

It's possible, although Hypuronector doesn't have one, either, and Longisquama seems to have the least "drepanosaur" like shoulder amongst all of them.

Feather-scales - on Megalancosaururs - yes.
Hypuronector - perhaps not much. It's long longs makes it a good candidate for stretched skin.
