i love agents btw i can setup my dream bare-metal k8s cluster within 24h and have everything migrated and running reliably with basically 0 service interruptions

the future is so bright

Can we talk about k8s during the next party we meet?

I want to manage cattle k8s nodes. Some older bare-metal nodes are cheap af right now, but I don't want to manage the control plane. Has anyone successfully stood up a k8s cluster on bare metal, yet used a managed control plane?

i like having repo of config files i can look at as opposed to pile of implicit state most things turn into.

k8s is not actually that complicated if you don't enterprise it. most of the complexity is stuff you wouldn't do in a homelab without k8s anyway

compose + caddy + tunnel handles 90% of cases. five sites on one box is exactly right. k8s overhead kills small teams.

Next week in Salt Lake City, I’m stepping onto my biggest stage to date: KubeCon NA 2026 🤩

Autonomous AI agents throw a decade of K8s design assumptions out the window. On Tuesday, I’m exploring what happens when non-deterministic software meets deterministic infra. See you in SLC👋

Its quite bad, but also if someone has password-enabled sshd in their alpine container in k8s I kind of have to question the choices they’ve made in life.
