Low income housing for immigrants.

"Progress is when I, specifically, am richer. Fuck people who need low-income housing" is honestly sending me.

Yeah, she said "low income housing" with a hard R at the end.

As always the “low income housing” doing some SERIOUS cover for what they really want to say

It’s helpful to understand that being poor, being low income and even middle income takes a lot of time. The low income and poor are working multiple jobs and the middle are doing all their own home/car maintenance after their middle income job.

California did this, too. Absolutely horrific for low-income trans children whose parents can’t afford private care.
Colorado & Michigan have become the latest blue states to end Medicaid coverage for trans youth.

Solidly blue Colorado will also be IMMEDIATELY shutting off care for all trans kids receiving puberty blockers—despite Trump's rule allowing a 6 month ‘tapering’ period.

This is a complete betrayal.

You, an idiot: We need to support public transit to support low income workers

Bob, expert: "Every gardener I see provides their own truck. I see housekeepers driving in cars advertising their services."

BINGO. What low income workers are there other than the ones who come to my house!? OWNED!

$800k houses are for low income people
Long Island right-NIMBYs are genuinely some of the worst people on earth.

they’ll beg for a government handout in the form of NIMBY policies that artificially inflate the value of their homes, and then turn around and say that simply making it legal to build apartments is “charity” or something

Low income housing for POC, if that doesn’t kill him nothing will.

California chapters also tend to use "tenant" to mean specifically low-income renters, and are sometimes even defining it to be inclusive of low-income homeowners. Doing so ignores the fact that renters of all incomes share class interests that are in tension with homeowners of all incomes.

Congrats to TCF for discovering rate hikes I guess?

(They indexed the chart to the low tick for the Fed Funds rate pass through to consumer lending rates)

(Also both debt levels and debt service ratios relative to income remain historically low)
Since the end of 2022, “real debt payments grew more than eight times as fast as real household income—14.8 percent compared with 1.7 percent, respectively.”

Maritza Rivera wants to make sure that social housing isn't "duplicating efforts" with the Office of Housing. A staffer says this is unlikely since they provide very different types of housing (very low-income subsidized housing vs. mixed-income cross-subsidized housing).

I’ve seen a few folks comment that “Guinea-Bissau is a low income country and cannot afford the hep B vaccine birth dose, so why is this study unethical?”

It’s a good question. Let me have a go at answering it.

In a nutshell, researchers cannot ethically exploit poverty & scarcity to do a trial
Holy shit

FOUR members of the ethics committee in Denmark that gave the green light to allow the widely-condemned RFK Jr-funded trial to proceed in Guinea-Bissau have now resigned in protest

im upset bc zeehondencentrum, the seal center that rescued internet-viral seals like chabashira, witje and many more, is facing bankrupcy (unexpected financial stress caused by the development of their new facility, withdrawal of government funding, and low visitor income) #seals #sealsky

The government's planned cuts to private health rebates for over 65s would hit low-income pensioners hardest. They target older Australians who've made payments for decades to secure the certainty of private health cover in retirement.

Pretty rich considering that Prop 1B, sponsored by Rivera, would have made social housing duplicative, requiring revenue only be used for low income housing.
