Do you want to try DINOSim? Are you a #napari fan? This is your lucky day then 😜

Checkout @aaitorg.bsky.social thread about it 👇
Here is DINOSim in @napari.org ! 🎬

Click a few points on the object you care about and the mask shows up right away. Drop in more images, and segment them in seconds. No background clicks, no training set, and no fine-tuning needed.

The Napari team has really been on it with the updates recently 💪🏻

#PhenoMe processes 🔬 images (2D, multichannel, time-lapse, with/without masks) with a pretrained vision model (e.g. DINOv2) and displays the latent space representation interactively (in Jupyter or Napari). This lets you explore new data acquisitions and identify existing phenotypes in a few clicks😎

🔬Ever wanted to test Fractal tasks on a subset of your OME-Zarrs before running whole workflows?

@rhornb.bsky.social and I created napari-fractal-tasks at the #OMEZarrHackathon2026 which lets you install and interactively run Fractal tasks directly in @napari.org!

The fantastic OME-ZARR Hackathon 2026 its coming to end soon ...

One the the outcomes is a new @napari.org plugin that allows to open images as "virtual OME-ZARRs".

You don't need to be a command-line expert. Through a browser-based remote desktop (Open OnDemand), users can run familiar tools like napari, CellProfiler and Fiji on cluster resources: more memory, cores and GPUs, same point-and-click. 3/9

Fun fact: the update consists primarily of a Luwian and a Lydian curse formula

New application note: napari-TurboBox ⚡📦, a napari plugin for 3D bounding-box annotation. Edit a box in one slice and follow it live in the orthogonal views: ~2 ms per mouse move even with 10⁴ boxes, 79× faster than napari-bbox.

@jni me tooo I swear I'll come back it's just all very crazy right now ❤️❤️❤️ I have huge fomo for whatever is happening in napari, I'll try to take some time over the weekend to catch up

It's wild, Claude built me an object classifier (broadly similar to ilastik/APOC implementation) in about 600 lines and 15 minutes. And nice Napari training GUI with a prediction/correction loop in another 20 minutes or so.

Valid question to ask about where tooling goes in a world like this.

Hate lagging interfaces while annotating images? We might have something to help you there. New preprint of a new napari plugin, project from our PhD student Nils Friederich 👏 (co-supervision with Ralf Mikut of IAI)
