Now you wonder "but alexia, what are the alternatives?"

If you want something quick and dirty, HackMD's book feature will probably do fine. Otherwise, look into ReadTheDocs or GitBook.

Am I followed by anyone who edits the #Haskell wiki? The "haddock comment" link is broken (to readthedocs . io).

I'm excited about the latest release of the MyST Engine, because it means you can now host MyST sites and Jupyter Books on ReadTheDocs!

Release mystmd@1.6.0 · jupyter-book/mystmd
This release updates the way that static HTML files are generated, to follow pagename/index.html structure rather than pagename.html structure. This makes Jupyter Book and MyST more reliable when h...

At a strong lensing meeting in April this year someone asked “How many of you have used [one of these LLMs] professionally in the *past week*?” EVERY hand went up except mine. But then I cracked, used an LLM to look up some python module use/syntax & it’s MUCH easier than stackoverflow/readthedocs 😕
13. Hence our dismal conclusion: rather than finding that LLMs free us to do a better job of what we were doing before they came along, they shift scientific incentives (and the playing field of academic competition) in ways that compel us to do more and more, faster and faster, less and less well.

Sometimes the perfect coding task is simple automation. I'd been manually showing and hiding ReadTheDocs versions when I released new versions of coverage․py. Now I have a program do it for me: github.com/nedbat/cover...

Has anyone made a ReadTheDocs style theme for Quarto?

Are there any simple doc generation systems similar to readthedocs et al where it'll automatically generate a version hierarchy based on git repo tags, supports Markdown documents, and is built for static self hosting?
