oh yeah we are going to need to do so much regulation on the tech industry
Will Chamberlain of the Thiel-backed Edmund Burke Foundation (which organizes NatCon) says that “The Brazilian regime should look carefully at what has happened to Venezuela and Cuba, and remember that this hemisphere belongs to the United States of America.” 1/

There's a closing window of opportunity on data dentre regulation in Canada. A new @policyalternatives.ca report by @simonenoch.bsky.social and @rachelpettigrew.bsky.social shows why regulation is needed now to protect the public interest. #cdnpoli

Whenever I am frustrated about land use regulation in California I take a deep breath and remember that England exists.
the UK is just cooked. seems like every boomer there has taken up NIMBY as their retirement hobby

because god forbid people have access to affordable groceries

You can't make claims about levels of regulation and growth for lots of reasons. There is no 'level' that easily quantifiable. Regulation can make markets. Regulation can protect incumbents or politically connected firms or consumers or the environment.

Opens up the distribution of outcomes that include a 60-vote Dem Senate in 2028 amidst a full trifecta. That would completely reset...everything. And would not be good for corporate tax rates + regulation.
I agree, but I’m curious what your reasoning for that is.

We must refuse emotional regulation as a social compulsion.
I'm so very tired of seeing Trans Women held to standards of accountability and emotional regulation few others face

While others get to be angry, defensive, and messy, Trans Women must remain patient and composed

All while being targeted, vilified, and dehumanised on an industrial scale

Or let them avoid some regulation from the city.

I'm guessing Facebook can look forward to much tighter regulation in Brazil.

You actually really had to win in regulation
October 24, 2026 at 7:18 PM
Gosh, why has nobody thought of this before?

Spoiler alert. They did. I worked for it once. It didn't control the growth of regulation.

Because, like this paper, it didn't consider the demand side for regulation. From every single political actor. www.kcl.ac.uk/sfg/assets/g...

Regulation of the digital platforms is the key to addressing disinformation & propaganda.
👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

You should frankly still win this in regulation
October 24, 2026 at 10:53 PM
You should probably care a bit about the regulation, too...
Lula’s win is the first good news for the planet in a while!

I bet it shaves a tenth of a degree off how hot our earth eventually gets, which will save millions of lives

Thank you Brazil!

We desperately need antitrust regulation for app stores.
If you pledge to my patreon through the ios app you will pay an additional 30% fee (Apple's fee, they keep all that!) AND your pledge is held by Apple for 75 days. So if you pledge to me in March maybe I will get that money for rent in June.

I am the ECNY luncheon with the Kalshi CEO, and he is getting pushed on regulation and the fact that he installed Don Jr in some capacity citing his "extensive experience".

He is just avoiding questions by producing lots of noise.

Vladimir Putin is the one leader who has access to the most money with the least amount of monitoring, regulation, or tracking.

Any time you hear someone ask why Trump praises Putin more than anyone else in the world, refer them to the paragraph above.
