Working on a thing! Mostly a practice project, both to get myself warmed up and to test my codebase for bugs.

I think it is time for a little re-#introduction post.

Coming from Czech Republic (Brno), I am passionate about #cpp, #cleancode, #gaming, and #gamedev.

If you are a software engineer who hasn't succumbed to Claude completely, or a game developer who uses the #sfml library, or a gamer who […]

This looks so sexy.

Seeing this post + the recent Unreal Engine (my engine of choice for the last 7 years) fiascos related to AI, I now have the urge to start an SFML + ImGUI project.

City of None looks amazing btw, has been wishlisted for ages!

I hate that this person's name used to be associated with SFML at some point. And now I see that their attempts at forking the project and advertising it everywhere ages ago were actually hinting at shittier behaviors underneath.

Disappointing.

Pretty much every part of these menus are now defined in XML rather than being hard-coded. There are only 2 so far but there was a lot of duplicate code between them--now folded into a superclass. There will be more menus leveraging this in the upcoming combat scene mvp.

I've been some time working on something that still is almost nothing, but hope some day I can share it to the world. The idea came back then when Flash EOL back in 2017, but I wasn't able to build it. Now... Lots of interesting things happened since then (JPEXS, Ruffle, LLMs, SFML 3, Python)

Sweet vindication! I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks that LOL. It also doesn't help that all the tools that Microsoft does provide require a lot more code comparatively, eg. XAudio2 to SFML, granted there are upsides to that approach, but still

Out in the wilds for anyone out there that wants to mess with it. Built it for both x86 Linux and Windows. Tested on Win10 VM, seemed ok.

Needed to cover the final mile of dev cycle: packaging and releases. Goal achieved I suppose :p

Have fun.

In my case, I just need help with understanding the graphics tools that are now available. All the programming outside of SFML is me. I have already had some artistic assistance. We can't wait for me to do all the graphics as well as the design and programming, it'll take forever.

I now have a pause menu that does something!

Next we'll put in the bones of a save system.

I wonder if iterating though a collection of C programs for compilation is the way to go when one needs to build lots of example programs that share the same compilation parameters.

I read a little bit how SFML uses CMake to build its examples, and it uses a single CMakeLists.txt for each. And […]
