Je voulais résister aux sirènes consuméristes du Black Friday, mais l'outil de contrôle des disques durs Smartmontools m'informe que 2 sur 5 sont en pré-fail → commande de 4 DD pour remplacer ceux >5ans, sur Amazon (pas d'offre LDLC) et ce WE gros backup externe + réinstallation de l'OS et DD en vue

got curious if there was a way to see SSD health status on Linux and smartmontools/smartctl seems to do the trick.
running sudo smartctl -a /dev/nvme0 gave me a lot of data and percentage used is 1%, which I think is nice. it's written 18.7 TB of data and ours is rated 600 TBW

got curious if there was a way to see SSD health status on Linux and smartmontools/smartctl seems to do the trick.

If this happened to me my first assumption would be that this disk is on its last legs, and I would back up all my data. I’d then use smartmontools to test the drive. linuxconfig.org/how-to-check...

So Mal gucken ob die neue Festplatte die ich bestellt habe gut ist oder wieder eine gebrauchte.

Turns out I couldn't use the #TrueNAS GUI to do what I needed to do. The "tarnished" zpool is now being re-"silvered." (Get it?) Just downloaded smartmontools to take a look at the "bad" drive to make sure it is actually bad, and not just a blip in the matrix. Anywho.

Als erstes schauen, ob die CR2032-Knopfzelle auf den Mainboard vielleicht leer ist und damit BIOS-Einstellungen gelöscht wurden, die zum Booten notwendig sind.

smartctlってWindowsでも使えたんだ - 以下省略!
なんとなく調べていたら知ったことだが、LinuxでSMART情報などが見られるsmartctlが入っているsmartmontools、実はWindows向けにも出ているようで、chocolateyで入れてみたという。CrystalDiskInfoで見られないエラーログ(GPL=General Purpose Log)も見れるぞ。なおデバイス指定はLinuxと同じ/dev/sdX方式なのでsmartctl --scanで要確認(ディスク0は/dev/sda、ディスク1は/dev/sdbのようになっている)。あ、実行する時は管理者権限での起動必須ね。
