Nice places. Like Tataria! Bashkiria! The home of Hunns, from Hunngary, who got visit at Ak Idel from their Catholic descendants. I wonder if Bashkirs themselves are also those Hunns who adopted more Turkic words.

In an argument he lost to Lenin, Stalin wanted more central control by Russia, but also that Tataria (and others) be treated as equals to Ukraine and Belorussia

How do plant traits shape insect communities? In Crambe tataria, plant height and inflorescence size influence insect abundance and composition, especially phytophagous species, highlighting the role of plant morphology in structuring ecological interactions.

Fingers crossed it's clarified in a positive manner. The Tataria rabbit hole goes weird, weird places.

Tataria is the theory that all history prior to about 1900 is 100%fake and there was a hyper advanced society that had encompassed the entire world since before ancient times before it was buried in a "mud flood" and was wiped from memory by an interchangeable villain (usually the Jews)

So they're behind the Bell Woo that's been schlorp'D by the Tataria nuts?

erase the existence of "Tataria".

hence the conspiracy theorists that claim a hidden, lost empire that has been deliberately masked and suppressed by the Soviet Union.
April 23, 2026 at 1:59 PM
Tataria vanished, replaced by place names that we would find more familiar in the present..., Kazan, Qazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc. This especially came about on Soviet maps which were both available and updated.

BUT, when compared to older European maps, these Soviet maps appeared to

These maps simply refered to what they DID know, which was that was the region where the Tatars lived, in what was assumed to be an empire or kingdom...Tataria or Grand Tatary.

As better knowledge of the world came about, into the 19th C. but esp by the 20th C., maps began to reflect this and

For anybody looking for a new (old) conspiracy, may I intoduce you to the supposed erasure of "Tataria" by the Soviet Union.

Old Western European maps reflected a general lack of knowledge about what lay to the East of Europe, especially east of Moscow and then the Urals

In celebration of four years of the Alexander Society Podcast, the boys take on the Tataria conspiracy. So join the boys as we break down the historical origins of the empire of the Tartars, then compare them with the conspiracy of the Tatarian Empire.

My mum bought me that book for my birthday one year, not because she believed it, but because she knew I enjoyed that kind of "speculative fiction".
I still sometimes have fun reading theories like "Flat Earth", "Tataria", "Tesla's Secrets" (infinite power from the air), etc., on Fbook

SO...Venezuela is down.

Are we taking bets on what country is next?

Colombia? Cuba? Iran? Canada? Denmark/Greenland? Nigeria? Tahiti (Trump heard it's where treats come from)? Timbuktu (yes it's real, but does Trump know that)? Atlantis? Tataria?

I am so fucking scared of people that believe such a make believe idea as if it's facts

But also? I'm intrigued by what the hell the world of Tataria itself is? Like it's straight up a fantasy concept moreso than something to be believed the same way you get to Narnia through a wardrobe lmao
Tartaria/Mudflood might be my favourite modern conspiracy theory simply for having the wackiest adherents.
