Hope everyone’s had a smashing long weekend/ #Monday.

I’ll just sulk here with the intolerable rainstorms 🤷‍♀️

It's the time of year when tropical disturbances can spin up off the coast of the Carolinas & Georgia with little warning. This one is unlikely to do anything serious, but it's nice to know about in case it does. #wx #NCwx #tropicalStorms www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?bas...

You can buy a life vest for $20 on Amazon and a safe inflatable boat for $50. Anyone near #hurricanes or #tropicalstorms or #flooding should have these to save lives. You could give these as #Christmas gifts this year!

💀 #Melissa The #ECMWF - go to #TropicalTidbits dot com for interactive model - shows an intense storm here and it is by far the best model out there. I am concerned about its potential impacts on #Jamaica, #Cuba and/or #Haiti. www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane... #hurricanes #tropics #tropicalstorms

We can detect #hurricanes and #TropicalStorms on seismometers because the winds from the storms create ocean waves & pressure fluctuations that cause up/down movements in the water column that drum on the sea floor. These vibrations are what the seismometers record.

Monsoon season started early this year for Bangkok & the east coast of Thailand. This is a 5.2x timelapse taken about 19:30 last evening (10 May 2025) as the storm swept through Jomtien Beach. A bit jerky due to short gaps between some of the video files
