My cat found many spaces to hide in last night. On top of a very high shelf, and in a box under my friends’s bed.

I’ve seen some people making comments about not caring about the Kennedy Center, or even wanting it gone, and if you’re not local, maybe sit this one out. It may be an abstraction to you, but to me it’s where I want to take my kids someday to see the symphony, the ballet, touring shows, etc

“There’s a new Mr. Beast book.”

You bolt awake in your workshop in Mainz. It’s 1450. You’re Johannes Gutenberg, and you’ve changed your mind. The future cannot come to pass. Your printing press must burn.

Recording for the concerto competition this week, but now is when my flute has decided to not be fully sealing!

Let’s hope my repair tech can fix it before Friday but I have low hopes. Might have to pull out due to instrument 🫠

You can just ban socially toxic technologies! They were socially banned like twelve years ago with Google Glasses, we can do it again in more formal ways with this latest attempt to push the Pervert's Delight™ onto society. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...
Push for import ban on 'pervert' smart glasses amid privacy concerns
Support is growing for a ban on the import of so-called “smart glasses”, amid an influx of low-cost devices that are being used to film Australians without their consent.

I don’t put up with simpering AI apologists. No “but there are use cases”, no “I only use it because xyz”, no “I haaaaave to because otherwise my emails sound mean.”

Sorry if that hurts your feelings! You know what hurt my feelings? When tech companies stole my thoughts, words, and literal voice—

He was disabled.

Please don’t lose this aspect. The way racism and ableism combined here is pernicious, specific, and very much why they came at him specifically.
So the allegation of plagiarism in his PhD was investigated and dismissed. It turns out he did run all those marathons. So tell me, precisely, all you online sleuths — what exactly did Jason Arday do wrong?

(Apart from being the wrong class and colour of course)

A lot of people don't know this, but when you brush a cat, you are legally required to show them the wad of cat hair that came off of them and tell them "this is enough for another whole cat"

The doctor who claimed that vaccines cause autism lost his medical license for faking for the study. But his lies and the damage he did to public health persist long after his paper was pulled. This is why science communication is so difficult; all it takes is one grifter.

And like, it’s fine and I’ll just keep checking back once it’s closer to September, but still. Sigh.
It can’t be that hard to set a specific date for things, right? Right?

If someone who knows the inner workings of grad application timelines wants to explain a good reason for the lack of specificity, I’m all ears at this point

Interaction I’m tired of goes as follows

Person 1: We should not normalize women feeling like they need to use fillers and injections to feel good about themselves

Person 2 (has Botox): Wowwwww so now we’re telling women what to do with their bodies? I thought you liked feminism

we should charge the C-suite with fraud and theft if they take a tax credit meant to keep people employed and then cut staff anyway.
Pixar receives a $26.2 Million Tax credit to keep film jobs in CA, and immediately lays off 10% of its work force, after making over a billion from Toy Story 5, the highest-grossing film of 2026.

Let’s be clear: what these bastards are doing to these books isn’t digitizing. Digitizing is about preservation and access to the original material. They’re gutting and destroying to make Soylent Green.

Don’t let them get away with pretending to do this for humanitarian reasons.
