The US President is claiming, and this is real, that the military is demanding he build a massive monument to himself across the river from Washington because they have nowhere else to store ammunition or deploy drones.

The site, which I pass often, is just down the road from THE PENTAGON.

At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch, to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage. There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World. It is illegal for the US President to tear down our beloved Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a national treasure created by our Congress, under law.

I don't like having to do this, but I have to.

This is not what happened. What happened was that a handful of scholars tried to legitimate an ahistorical argument and were criticized because of it. They then spent a year engaging in abject sophistry and caricaturing their critics. They still lost.
Just after the 5-4 decision in Trump v. Barbara earlier this year, a concerted social-media push cast a small group of originalist scholars as arch-villains for “normalizing” the view taken by three of the justices—namely, that the Constitution does not require a policy of universal birthright citizenship. For some, universal birthright citizenship is so sacrosanct that any disagreement or debate is unacceptable.
