I would love to ask a prominent BBC journalist to give me an example of an illegitimate concern. Is seems to me that it has become a question not of fact, logic, or ethics but of volume. If a big enough proportion of a village was anxious about Bigfoot or Chemtrails, BBC would cover it in a way...

Any lives lost due to this closure should be laid firmly at the feet of the far-right agitators who caused this. The way in which anti-asylum activists are putting more and more people at risk should be a wake up call that it is time to genuinely combat them, rather than pandering to their ideology.
The RNLI has said the abuse of volunteers in Portsmouth has forced it to close the lifeboat station there and stop operating since September 10. Nearby stations have been providing cover to the area instead. One of the UK's largest coastal cities without a lifeboat because of the far-right.

So sad to hear Catherine Ringer has passed away. For anyone who spent time in France in the 80s and 90s Les Rita Mitsouko really was one of the most memorable sounds.

You do understand it was most likely your Austerity policies that got the Referendum over the line for Leave. You destroyed our services & the europhobes weaponised this as the EU’s fault. Still waiting for an apology from you.

If you're in government watching criminal-led blackshirt thugs in balaclavas wage war on the RNLI and you're hedging your bets because you're not sure who the majority of the country will side with, why do you even want to be in government?

Why would you WANT to lead people you think so little of?

For me there is no mystery to these people. I grew up in a street with plenty of them, where the British National Party felt confident enough to visit our doorsteps. There is no dignity to their hatred and it has been indulged far too long. It has already cost us enough time, enough lives. Enough.
The "stop the boats" movement is being driven by the type of English suburban racist who thinks that one black family living in their street is one too many. Yes, it really is as simple as that, and it has been for decades. There is no intellectual depth to this stuff. It is pure, distilled hate.

Finally they came for the Daily Mail and my irony meter just packed up and left and I never heard from it again.
Daniel Thomas / Danny Tommo has today marched his private army of blackshorts to Daily Mail HQ to demand a new house for his mum within 48 hrs, after they doorstepped her for a feature on him.
Apparently he plans to blockade them + cry at them until they do

Bet those lads are glad of the balaclavas

The balaclava blackshirted thugs are a result of a decade of politicians, tabloids and the broadcast media telling racists they have "legitimate concerns."

The normalisation of actual fascism rhetoric and action has led to this and is a far greater "legitimate concern" than any migrant on a boat.

The images here are extremely sinister, and the word 'protestors' hardly applies. But there's also a bizarre aspect as it's thought to be a 'stop the boats' action, yet it is targetting cars trying to reach the terminal to take cross-channel ferries to France:
