My moderately warm take is that pharmacies led the lockup panic and it was not about theft. CVSCaremark pushed to become pharmacy of record for insurance companies and part of that was ample retail locations. Now that they have the contracts they're degrading retail to push 90 day mail order.
feel like the thing missing in Shoplifting Discourse is that if you leave aside the morality of stealing from a big corporation, widespread shoplifting forces retailers to take onerous and annoying steps to combat it which causes harm and deadweight loss to all the other store patrons.

My CVSCaremark PBM journey with Zep:

2024 $50/mo copay w/Lilly coupon

2025 $66/mo copay w/Lilly coupon

2026 $499/ mo w/Lilly coupon 🤬(only after switching to Wegovy & it failing, approved for Zep on appeal)

Lilly direct 15mg $459/mo

Time for single-payer w/negotiated drug $ like Medicare!!!

What do you do when your PBM suggests a "medical impossibility" to fix a system glitch? 💊

I’m documenting a case of "Administrative Gaslighting" involving a suggestion to prescribe 3x the FDA limit to bypass a coding error.

I priced my daily RXs as well compared to my 90d thru insurance ( Amtrak-union employee) .. it’s actually about $8 cheaper thru CpDrugs than my plan w/cvscaremark..

Should I just give up on psych meds? Nothing seems to help, and #CVSCaremark makes getting refills such a hassle, and the withdrawal symptoms every time I run out are unimaginably horrible. I should just go back to my 50 years of masking and just dealing with it. #mentalhealth

That breakthrough HIV prevention drug just announced? #CVS already stated it won’t carry it, & #CVSCaremark (their pharmacy insurance) won’t cover it.

Y’all, time to boycott CVS like we did Target.

I got a notice from CVScaremark that the prior authorization for my prescription has expired so I need to jump through hoops to re-prior authorize it

What was that about conservatives not wanting faceless bureaucrats interfering in our healthcare?

Just did the annual Rx mail-order opt-out with CVScaremark. It was easier this time. I like my local independent pharmacy and only go to CVS when absolutely necessary. They've grown far too big.

Today I found out that Sandoz and CVScaremark have decided that I now have to pay over $1,300 a month to keep my eyesight. I was on humira since 2011 and never paid a dime for it. CVS last year said they no longer cover humira and switched me to hyrimoz. Never paid a dime thanks to copay assistance.

I called and asked for the credentials of the #CVSCaremark employee who denied me coverage. They are a pharmacist. Not an MD. Not a specialist in women’s health. Just a general pharmacist. I’m sure they know better than an actual gynecologist though, hyuk

You know what’s fun? When your doctor prescribes a medication for you and your insurance takes three weeks to respond only to deny it stating that they need proof that this medication works for me. If you’re denying it, how then do I provide proof that it works? #healthfirst #cvscaremark
