#Chronotype
chronotype divergence is just a normal part of being humans and it isn't inherently pathological. the part where negative side effects come from is that no one takes this seriously as a thing that exists

More productive at night? 🌙 Your chronotype may help explain why. Research suggests some mental tasks benefit from matching your biological clock, but results vary. #ScienceExplained #Chronotype #SleepScience #Wellness #CircadianRhythm

And it does nothing for those whose chronotype is not noctural.

Lark or night owl (or ‘intermediate’)?

Our chronotype is a complex combination of genes, age, and environmental (eg urban/rural, summer/winter) and life style factors:

People defending standard time with health concerns are literally just saying they’re just fine with *me* experiencing those health outcomes they’re familiar with.

Just not themselves.

When there shouldn’t be a social expectation of the same chronotype (scientists made it sound like a video game).

For me, my chronotype tends to the lark so the fall time change is harder

Israeli parole judges gave favorable rulings 65% of the time at the start of a session and nearly zero just before a break. The cases hadn't changed. Their brains had.

I'm a night owl by chronotype. But I totally support standard time!

#ClocksGoBack this weekend in UK/Europe, giving many of us a bonus hour of lovely sleep. Good time for a reminder that the tendency to be a “morning lark” or “night owl” is influenced by your DNA. But, like other aspects of behaviour, lots of different genes are involved, each with small effect.🌞🌚🧬🧪
Genome-wide association analyses of chronotype in 697,828 individuals provides insights into circadian rhythms - Nature Communications
GWAS have previously found 24 genomic loci associated with chronotype, an individual’s preference for early or late sleep timing. Here, the authors identify 327 additional loci in a sample of 697,828 ...

Sunrise people versus moonlight movers. It’s not just about behaviour. Your chronotype is partly genetic. It influences sleep, mood, and even performance. What's yours?

ADHD, big feelings and bad sleep really do travel together. In a survey of 1414 adults with ADHD, more trouble regulating emotions was linked to more insomnia, strongest in under-30s. A link, not proof of cause. Do your feelings get louder at night?

Monday, 10:45pm: wide awake, brain finally online. 7am: the alarm feels personal. Night owl or early bird?

Chronotype is partly genetic, not a character flaw. What helps owls: morning daylight and a steady wake time.

Still an owl. Just one who opens the curtains first. #sleep

【今日の豆知識】
クロノタイプは年齢によって変化します。
思春期は夜型になりがちで、加齢とともに朝型に寄る傾向があります。
無理にリズムを変えるより、自然なリズムに合わせた生活がお勧めです。

Not for everyone. Those of us who are blessed with a "morning lark" chronotype are tired of the Sun not rising until 7:30 when it's still only mid-October. That kind of shit can wait until December, where it belongs.
