Yes. Please RISC-V, let us converge on a common parallel programming model, supported on all RVA23 (RVV) systems.

SYCL, Spawn of OpenCL, seems a fine choice, and I think CodePlay has a stack ready to go.

But whatever. Pick one.

Then feel free to also innovate for your various tensor units.
Finally got a chance to visit a technical session at #SC24. Interesting challenges for RISC-V adoption but isn't LLVM the obvious choice to build a compiler tool chain? Alongside that maybe SYCL can complement the open standard ISA for general purpose programming for many core processors?

Well, TornadoVM is now running on RISC-V 64 Spacemit K1!

This is huge! #Java + #TornadoVM running on a RISC-V parallel processor using the vector instructions as a target accelerator via OpenCL. It uses #GraalJIT compiler and #Codeplay OCK OpenCL compilers. Time to start some benchmarking.

GROMACS have been using #SYCL for a while now, and today, Andrey Alekseenko (KTH) and Ewan Crawford (Codeplay) present work using a SYCL-Graph extension (early versions of this have been presented at previous IWOCLs). This DPC++ extension is also used in Kokkos and Llama.cpp.

fast compilation of #SYCL for code generated at runtime.

Excellent outcome of the #research collaboration between the University of Manchester and Codeplay Software! Exploring #vectorization on #RISCV architectures for #Java parallel workloads!

The work has been accepted to be presented at #RISCVSummitEurope!

Our last paper is accepted at the #RISCV Summit Europe 2025! We evaluated Java parallel workloads expressed with #TornadoVM on real RISC-V CPUs using vector instructions generated by the oneAPI Construction Kit. How cool is this?

Pre-print coming soon!

Running #OpenCL on #RISCV board via the OneAPI Construction Kit from Codeplay!
#LLVM and #OCK compiled on the board. It took 4 days, plenty of patience, and more than 20 reboots 😅, but I finally got it working on a board with only 4GB of RAM and a 32GB SD card. Amazing!

Just running compute with #SYCL is great but you always want to *SEE* the output. Duncan Brawley (Codeplay Software) is presenting interoperability for images with the DirectX and Vulkan Graphics APIs.

Glad to participate in this workshop, to present the work that we do in @aeroprojecteu.bsky.social to optimize #TornadoVM for the EU processor ecosystem.

We will highlight the results through the collaboration between University of Manchester, Codeplay and Red Hat!
Don’t miss this opportunity to interact with us and our sister projects at HiPEAC!

I spent a lot of my time at Codeplay wondering why it was so hard to build a disruptive technology company. A lot of what I ended up focusing on was the ecosystem. In technology, ecosystems are critical, especially for businesses. But they're not a direct revenue-generator, so they get […]

We just missed each other, then. I had switched from Altera to Google. My first Vulkan meetings were June 2015.

Fun fact, the first commit to SPIRV-Tools was May 22, 2015 by Ken Benzie of Codeplay.

Settings of DPC++ toolchain within MS VisualStudio 2022 Pro on Windows 11 for NVIDIA cards
## Hi there! I have laptop with integrated Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770 and dedicated NVIDIA RTX A3000 12GB. It is running Windows 11 with Visual Studio Pro 2022 and CUDA v12.3. One top I've installed oneAPI HPC toolkit 2025 and plugin from Codeplay (oneapi-for-nvidia-gpus-2025.0.0-cuda-12.0-windows.msi). Integration went well. New template projects appeared within MSVS2022 environment. Then I have a test command-line project within MSVS2022 using sycl in order to multiplying two matrices (attached). For Intel card whole test working no problem with default settings in Release configuration, I can executed and receive expected results. Then I've clone the configuration into new one ReleaseNVIDIA, and selected NVIDIA device programmatically, so to create a Queue. Build went ok, yet sycl code was not executed, giving me "SYCL ERROR: Native API failed. Native API returns: 7 (UR_RESULT_ERROR_INVALID_BINARY)" ## I've realized it was not generated for the target platform, so I've put in dpcpp command line options -fsycl -fno-bundle-offload-arch -fsycl-targets=nvptx64-nvidia-cuda and it was accepted but still getting warning during the build ## 1>icx-cl: : warning : linked binaries do not contain expected 'spir64-unknown-unknown' target; found targets: 'nvptx64-nvidia-cuda' [-Wsycl-target] and error ## "SYCL ERROR: No kernel named _ZTS15mmult_naive_bufIfE was found" during run-time What other settings I have to specify for DPC++ and Linker within VisualStudio 2022 to target NVIDIA card? Many thanks! Best regards Yuli
