One response to the npr article I posted earlier. Unfortunately this type of thinking is quite normative. That accomdations are just used by students to cheat or stop themselves from educating themselves rather than being a thing that gives them access

A lot of students “claim” to have disabilities to use “assistive” technologies. But in reality are watching Netflix slyly instead of paying attention. Not everyone needs a 504 plan.

This is something I and others have been warning about for awhile and it is great though scary too to have more visible coverage of the reality that individuals with accommodations are unfortunately being put at risk by overily broad bans on technology in classrooms
