I think we're probably close enough to the green strike price that the apocalypse we will actually see is truckers converting their trucks to EVs themselves. A trucker's wife handweaving an in-hub motor out of enameled copper from the Home Depot. A very sketchy battery pack of many Tesla packs

Tie-up 4. I’m quite liking this rounded thing going on here. I hope that gets accentuated after washing.

First warp for the winter weaving season is going onto the big loom (despite it being very warm and sunny and enticing outside). #handweaving #weaving 🧶

An underrated skill that comes with a given craft is Knowing What The Random Weirdly-Shaped Bit Of Wood Is For. And handweaving sure has many Random Bits Of Wood With Baffling String

Very funny to be linked an (exquisite) work by a weaver, poke around the blog, and find a series of reblogs being very confused about the use of a random bit of wood...
... which is a completely standard tool in Swedish handweaving and I could obviously identify without a second thought

I finished up a batch of kitchen towels and quite pleased with them. 8/2 cottons, 24 epi and a blend of 2 handweaving .net drafts: threading from 79714 and the tie up from 79912. When things don’t go according to plan, take another path. #multi-shaftloomweaving #weaversknot #weaving

Cleaned out the linen closet and discovered a handwoven shawl that I made years ago. I had tucked it in with the tablecloths after using it as an altar cloth and getting wax on it. 😆 Time to get it back out and use it again!

I agree. It's dated 1850, so I think of it as a bit of a swan song for the end of the age of handweaving. ❤️

Measuring a warp for a rag rug. The colors together remind me of salt water taffy, though that wasn’t the plan when I bought the yarn #HandWeaving

The Early Blossom towel is done! 🥳🥳

I’m quite proud of it, even though there are things I would do differently next time.

It’s a summer and winter weave inspired by the first blossoms of the past spring – including the colours. 🌸😊

Handwoven on an 8-shaft table loom in Nm 5 cottolin.
