With the release of 'The Uprising' so helpfully timed with the release of my new biography of Richard II, I had to take a quick look at the origins of the Peasants' Revolt - and if you want to know more, you'll have to buy the book! 📚

I am reading the book, Kate Moore’s The Woman Who Could Not Be Silenced. It’s the story of Elizabeth Packard, a woman who fought for women’s rights and voting during the Civil War.

Recently received this new study by Charissa Kurda on the Persecution of Sinti and Roma in Geemany, Austria and Switzerland. Curious if she has a new perspective on the subject. Review will follow on @tracesofwar.bsky.social in due time. #historybookchat

Just completed Churchill’s Citadel which was both interesting & engaging. The book is not just a biography but also a history of the 30’s leading up to the start of WW2 through the lens of people who visited & met with Churchill at Chartwell. I really enjoyed it! Highly recommended! #HistoryBookChat

Just finished this remarkable book about the history and legacy of the Wilmington Race Massacre of 1898. This should, most definitely, be a contender for a Pulitzer. #booksky

Just finished reading Tim Bouverie’s excellent book on the policy of appeasement. The book covers the period from 1933 to the evacuation from Dunkirk. It is well researched, comprehensive & a terrific read. Highly recommended! #HistoryBookChat
