ILC3s regulate the gut microbiota via host intestinal galactosylation to limit pathogen infection in mice - Nature Microbiology
Akkermansia muciniphila can promote intestinal pathogen infection in mice via microbial metabolite succinate production, but the expansion of A. muciniphila is strictly controlled by ILC3s through the...

ILC3s sense gut microbiota through STING to initiate immune tolerance
Maintaining immune tolerance to the microbiota is essential for gut health. Zhou et al. demonstrate that ILC3s are a RORγt+ APC that sense the microbiota through STING to induce microbiota-specific Tr...

Happy to share new work from #theonlylabever, lead by the phenomenal @sltai.bsky.social - who developed a tool to study the biology of ILC3s, identifying their role in controlling CSF2-dependent myeloid cells. 🤗

New immune cell population just dropped!

Unique group of ILC3s lives 𝙄𝙉𝙎𝙄𝘿𝙀 lung blood vessels, not the tissue. Upon 𝘗𝘴𝘦𝘶𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘴 infection, they quickly mobilize CCL4 to summon neutrophils

Without them, bacterial clearance is delayed and inflammation lingers

In the latest #Science #Immunology: researchers @ Tsinghua U report that #ILC3 augment group #ILC2 #anthelmintic immune responses in 🐁! Upon N. braziliensis infection, ILC3-derived #RANKL synergizes w/ #IL13 to facilitate intestinal #TuftCell expansion, which amplifies ILC2 responses!

Very happy to see this story finally out (link in comments)!

We used low-input Capture Hi-C to profile promoter-anchored chromosomal interactions in Type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) - rare tissue-resident lymphocytes that lack antigen receptors and regulate barrier immunity.

Kabil, Hughes, McNagny et al. identify a balance between ILC2s & ILC3s as critical for gut tissue repair. Selective deletion experiments reveal that ILC2 loss promotes #fibrosis, while ILC3 depletion protects against it. rupress.org/jem/article/...

6/ Surprisingly, loss of IGF1R did not alter ILC3 abundance or IL-22 production. Instead, IGF1 restrained IFNγ-induced CXCL10 production by ILC3s. Deleting Cxcl10 in ILC3s rescued the worsened colitis caused by IGF1R loss, revealing an IL-22-independent mechanism.
