#PLANETARYSCIENCE
I don't know what to make of this change, but I worry that in this "rush, rush" environment we may trample, metaphorically and literally, on potentially great science.

#planetaryscience needs a measured plan for planetary protection. Is this a good plan?

Earth and Mars formed side by side, but new chemical modeling suggests different recipes: Earth mostly from pebble-grown protoplanets, Mars mostly from planetesimals. Today’s signal: cosmicreader.app #PlanetaryScience #Mars

10 years since Rosetta ended, time flies ! And now @ESA's next mission to a small body (Hera) is about to reach its destination. Many of us who were involved with Rosetta are working on Hera. It's a great family of scientists, engineers, and space missions :) #PlanetaryScience
Ten years ago one daring spacecraft made a final descent 🥹

On 30 September 2016, the Rosetta mission concluded with a controlled impact onto Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, taking one last image.

FUN FACT: Uranus has the coldest planetary atmosphere, not Neptune. Temps hit -224C, likely from a giant impact that flipped it sideways.

🌍 Size alone does not decide how strongly a world pulls. Gravity carries a quieter signature written in mass and radius.
