So many options to play ZX Spectrum AY music, ensuring accuracy of the clock signal the AY is paramount. Back in 2021 I released a module to match the exact clock of ZX, initially for a YM/AY Soundcard for RC2014 & compatibles, but can be used in other circuits.
New v2.0 ZXTT -> 2014.samcoupe.com
ZXTT v2.0 module generates the exact 1.7734MHz clock signal that the 128K ZX Spectrums use for the AY soundchip. Higher or lower clock will change the pitch and envelope effects and music won't sound quite right.

Love this kind of detail. The 128K runs its AY at 1.7734 MHz while MSX and CPC use different clocks, so tunes really do drift in pitch on the wrong one. Nice little fix for RC2014 folks.

There are some proper quality improvements in 1.8, especially the myriad of transfer options both up and down. Transferring files, especially from Linux, seemed like a bit of a faff before. It now feels more like a finished product and something I'd use more on a regular basis like the RC2014.

End of an era. #Zilog EOL'd the #Z80 over two years ago, now parent IXYS/Littelfuse issue EOL notification for all MCU lines. Got my first Z80 in a #ZXSpectrum in '83 then #SAMCoupe in '93. Made my own Z80 stuff since late 90s. Designed industrial equipment with eZ80 in 2003, plus co-pro on SAM.
