#ReLiOn
Authors published a paper in Biorxiv, they used RELION in the study. Including #RRIDs will make this less ambiguous.

SciScore made a table with this resource, see “Automated Services” module (download as csv, xml or #jats) #RRID #reproducibility

Using github.com/hanjinliu/hi... installed in native Windows to run RELION installed in WSL -- as if you are running RELION in Windows!

One of the things I like about the network view is i can process multiple data collections in a single project and keep track of each pipeline. Then when I merge star files later, and combine data sets, it's all under one roof, no guessing and no jumping. #Relion #cryoEM #cryoET ❄️🔬

I just got one validation report.. for two maps. Not clear what was used for building or analysis. Workflow is 5 panels.. doesn’t really match the text. Done w Relion and CS, completely fine, but then the processing isn’t 4 lines and volumes that I don’t know are coming from what step…

I'd call this version 0.0.0. it's highly functional. Coded by parallel Claude agents and tested by running #Relion tutorials. This WebUI wraps #IsoNet2 into a Relion interface, internalizes picking jobs and ships securely in browser

I dont know if I can continue calling this #Relion -US
Maybe OpenCryo-UI ? #ideas ?
Branch for IsoNet2 Integration. As long as #Relion and #IsoNet2 installed (with or without native gui) This UI will wrap them for you and port to web-based interface. #SPA #cryoEM pipeline tested. #Tomo in progress

running through the #relion #cryoET tutorial for debugging.
Added internal jobs/visualizers for Exclude Tilt images and particle picking.

Manual picking directly in #Relion is now available in Relion-US UI based on DeepETPicker manual picking software #Python. Native Relion will pick up on these but you can't run them from the Relion GUI. You can browse for the star files directly (normal) though if you dont want to use webUI
August 26, 2026 at 6:58 PM
Added a branch with several bug fixes. Has continue and overwrite opts now and job status transfers to native Relion although you can't rerun picking there because I opted for the DeepET style custom picker.
Kept as branch because some of this could confuse native relion gui if run tandem.

#cryoEM #cryoET #teamTOMO #Relion ❄️🔬
#IMOD /DeepETPicker style picker. Custom jobs for #SingleParticle and #Tomography. Not fully tested yet, little buggy on particle import. Have not stress tested the file caching so may need to split those star files, but opened 10 tomograms in test
August 25, 2026 at 7:39 PM
some debugging to do with run_pipeliner. relion is built to lock that file out. trying not to corrupt the project directory so right now you cant really fall back to the old gui and expect to see jobs from relion-us. trying to find a safe way to make them talk to eachother without a lot of overhead

pull, test, submit problems/suggestions, fork/edit, push ideas. Now fully functional Relion WebUI wrapper for remote work and everything Relion. Integrates your working projects into a single UI and outputs backward compatible files so you can still use native GUI (sync)

#cryoEM #cryoET #teamTOMO #Relion ❄️🔬
#IMOD / DeepETPicker style picks visualizer. You can use this little applet to open tomograms (or as a rudimentary volume viewer) right inside the interface. You can't edit picks here, but that might be something I add.
I plan to #supportLT along side Relion

If you use #Relion for for #cryoEM ❄️🔬
I bet it never looked like this.
I'd say this is pretty good for a little over a week by someone I would not call a programmer

So the original RELION-US was pretty dysfunctional, but it did allow me to launch jobs by hand typing them into the UI and tack their progress. Now we're at a pretty solid state for the jobs I have run. Claude has done some synthetic SPA pipeline testing but the #tomography stuff is pretty solid.

100% - neither is the validation cycle that makes a natural language interface really work. Btw my comment also why I encourage RELION GUI use, I've been called on just to say "you forgot --gpu" quite a few times...

We are now developing agents to execute #relion workflows, but to get those expert user decisions in non-linear workflows right is not so easy!

Currently, I'm waiting to see how the community responds. I have a couple more updates I need to make today, but its live on Github. I'll certainly keep maintaining it as long as I'm using it. the big thing for me, was I wanted to run some jobs from my phone while I commute! 😅

So.. its running! I havent done much other than load it up and make sure it can read/write default_pipeline.star. It picked up that a job is running. I have a job currently running in the OG #cryoEM #Relion GUI. These shots are from my windows machine browser on the same network as my workstation

So here is my very early webbased wrapper for #Relion. I have barely tested it so if we were a software company this would be pre-alpha, but we're a community so pre-alpha is going to be released like #alpa. I'm #vibe building this for my own use while I learn #tomography.

I like the #DeepETPicker simple "mutual" (manual) picking module visualizer. #Relion is obviously a top #cryoEM/ #cryoET processing software package. The user interface is dated. It hasnt changed much since it was first created which I appreciate, but Im going to vibe some updates, integrate them...
