The story isn't in any gospel. It was painted in 1602 in Allahabad, India, for the Mughal prince Salim, inside a life of Jesus written in Persian by the Jesuit missionary Jerome Xavier. The ailing king in the tale: Abgar. Salim's father, the emperor: Akbar.

Josephus' comments on Jesus absolutely contain Christian interpolations. If you believe they don't then you'll love the definitely real correspondence between Jesus and King Abgar.
