#HurricaneErin became. #Category5 in less than 24 hours.
Initially predicted to "only" be a cat 3 hurricane, then "probably" a cat 4 (Musk-Trump DOGE fired many at NOAA and NWS), Erin has strengthened from a tropical storm to cat 5 in less than 24 hours – only the 43rd Atlantic-basin hurricane since 1851 to become a category 5 storm.
