#coffeeShops
I miss record stores. And coffeeshops that aren't trying to be Starbucks.

perpetually tapping the sign

free:
- every park
- hiking
- biking
- outdoor skating
- campfires
- libraries
- tennis
- farmers markets
- stargazing

pretty cheap:
- the zoo
- corn mazes
- karaoke
- bowling
- coffeeshops
- boardgame cafe
- rock climbing
- minigolf
- comedy
- pub trivia
- pools
there is nowhere to go that doesn't cost at least 100 dollars
Found a chart that goes through 2025. This problem has plateaued and isn't returning to pre-pandemic levels.

„Der Geruch des Coffeeshops war stark genug, um eine Garage darauf zu errichten.“

Me at 14: chain-smoking in coffeeshops everyday.

My 14 year old: Can I get a gym membership?

Glad they found something for them to do beyond hanging around metro stations and coffeeshops.

it’s all over the hipster coffeeshops

In one of the coffeeshops I like to work in and the barista just told a ICE pig to get lost. Gonna tip her $20 on my next cup.

Seattle coffeeshops that are better than Storyville: all of them
I have some bad news.

i always travel with a fellow con artist to coffeeshops hoping to be asked to watch someone's laptop

a non exhaustive list of mine:

coffeeshops (several)
card shop with tables that sold hot dogs
Denny’s (smoking section outside bar area)
student union building at the university
public parks (several)
various theater related facilities
I ask as always:

What were these mythical "third places that previous generations had available to them?"

The whole idea of "third places" is just so much Camelot mythmaking.

Coffeeshops are overrated, I get my best work done in the insufferable quiet of the Honda Service Center waiting area.

Philosophers blessing, possibly the name of an exceptionally potent cannabis variant in Amsterdam’s coffeeshops…

Having the absurd revelation just now that working from coffeeshops as opposed to home is not economically smart.

Coffeeshops need to bring back couches and comfy chairs. Nobody wants stools, corporate minimalist chairs, or wooden benches.
What’s your most old-coded opinion? Mine is that the Apple Watch is the least value added product* on the market today. It’s like what if you had a Fitbit with a bunch of apps you never used and you have to charge it twice a day?

*over something like a basic Fitbit

I don't know what to do with any of these paintings. I think I might discreetly leave them in coffeeshops or something

People loudly interviewing for jobs on the phone in coffeeshops don’t seem like the kind of employees you would want.

Oh man. I dunno where dudes like this hang around these days but coffeeshops used to be absolutely rotten with them. They would come over to my house and lecture me about Marxism while eating all my food without asking until kicked their asses out
Being a freeloading piece of shit, but wokely
