The 2nd study for July #ISHLTJournalWatch is an ACTION study assessing clinical outcomes in #pediatric patients supported on #paracorporeal continuous flow (pCF) pumps. 78% of children on pCF VADs had positive outcomes, but patients with #CHD had worse outcomes.

The 1st study this month compares outcomes of children undergoing #LungTx w/childhood interstitial lung disease (chILD) compared to cystic fibrosis/PH. The study, from @jhlt.bsky.social, showed chILD has favorable transplant outcomes.

The 2nd study in the issue explores the nationwide shortage of #Donor hearts in USA, & examines why organs may be deemed unsuitable. The study finds about 25% of declined hearts are unrelated to the donor and suggest donor evaluations are subjective. #ISHLT
