#mayorpalooza
I went to a meet-and-greet today for DeWayne Davis and liked him a lot. Are Omar Fateh and Jazz Hampton still doing those at all or have they transitioned entirely to doorknocking? (Yeah, I should've gone to Mayorpalooza but I had a conflict.)

If you’re at the Uptown Farmers Market today, please stop by and say hello to my son, a certified financial planner who’s helping educate anyone for free about making good money decisions. (PS the banner designer also did #mayorpalooza poster.)

Rode an e-trike (rented from @mplscargobikelibrary.com) to Mayorpalooza last night. I don't know how to ride a bike, so this was my first ride EVER. I loved it! Can't wait to try it again!

Grateful to live in such a bikeable city and to the bike library for helping me discover the joys of cycling.

Great to hear from MPLS mayoral candidates in a neighborly setting last night at Mayorpalooza. I went in not knowing how I’d rank and left still not knowing, but more energized and optimistic about our options @dewayneforminneapolis.com @jazzformayor.bsky.social @omarfatehmn.com @dbrauer.net

It felt great to be in conversation with so many people yesterday at @dbrauer.net's #Mayorpalooza yesterday! I'm grateful to David for hosting us, to the 100+ people who showed up, and to everyone who donated last night. I'm honored so many of you believe in me and my candidacy.

And sometimes those spaces surprise me - but that's only when I'm able to be explicit about who I am! At last night's Mayorpalooza, David said the election is not between binary choices, so when I got up to ask my question, I commented that I'm non-binary so I like rejecting the binary.

thank you @dbrauer.net for putting on mayorpalooza last night! what a great community resource

Random #mayorpalooza observation - really nice to meet so many of the trans community last night. Smart, savvy folks absolutely unafraid to press not just their community’s dire issues under authoritarianism, but the wider needs of Minneapolis. We all benefit from fighting to be a trans refuge.

Campaigns are tough and demanding and competitive. AND thank you @dbrauer.net and Sarah for curating, hosting, convening #mayorpalooza that brought out the hopeful parts of #minneapolismayor race. #wedeservebetter and better is possible...& the ice cream was delish!

City folks learning about mayoral candidates at @dbrauer.net’s backyard “mayorpalooza”. This is what democracy looks like. #RankedChoiceVoting #Minneapolis

One of the most important Qs from Mayorpalooza forum: What do you say to neighbors who think Frey's OK?
I'm still unsure of a sound-bite answer.
Unlike an Andrew Cuomo, Frey has dodged scrutiny, kept his abuses off of the front page.
A challenge to raise awareness while meeting ppl where they're at.

#mayorpalooza a huge success! Thanks for hosting @dbrauer.net - it was great to hear relaxed q&a with candidates including my favorite @dewayneforminneapolis.com

Thanks to the 100+ who came to #mayorpalooza tonight. The spirit of fellowship - among the candidates, among the crowd - was fantastic, just a giant reaffirmation of what Minneapolis can be. Elections are competition but existence is cooperation, and it was nice to see the line between them thin.

A couple people asked where we got the trike on the ride to Mayorpalooza, we spread the word 😁 Hope to meet in-person some other time!

had a great time at Mayorpalooza, hosted by the wonderful @dbrauer.net , good people, good conversation, new friends, excellent food, great strategizing on how to rank in the upcoming mayoral election!

Feeling hopeful and energized after Mayorpalooza (Big thanks again to @dbrauer.net!) We spent the ride home talking about how DeWayne, Omar, or Jazz could wind up mayor and we’d feel good about the outcome. How lovely to have such a slate full of great alternatives to Frey!

Re-upping this 🧵 with my 2¢ on Jazz. Asked about that photo at Mayorpalooza today, he was IMO more apologetic than he needed to be about wearing every candidate's button.
If our side loses big again in Nov, we left-of-center folks may look back on this photo and regret the stink we made over this one photo, where Jazz wears a Frey button (at an RCV event where he's also wearing a Brenda Short flyer).

WE have to say Don't Rank Frey.
JAZZ shouldn't have to say that.
jazz hampton wore full slate of mayoral candidates with his own pride button, omar fateh, dewayne davis and jacob frey buttons and since brenda short didn’t have buttons, he used one of her handouts

Thanks, @dbrauer.net, for hosting a bunch of us in your backyard for MAYORPALOOZA. It was great to get to hear from the campaigns and candidates about why we should rank them ahead of our incumbent mayor. I'm hearing a consistent message of willingness to build relationships and listen well.

mayorpalooza in a tizzy over a new all of mpls email incorrectly identifying carol becker as a current member of the board of estimation and taxation. justice for steve brandt and facts

. @lynnellmick.bsky.social asking jazz hampton about this photo and the frey button at mayorpalooza, jazz explains it was at a fair vote ranked choice voting event so he wearing frey’s button was in support of that mission, points out he wore brenda short lit as well
