MongoDB became popular by doing essentially the 2010's equivalent of this. Rigor is as much as anything else about accurately conveying what you think you know and why. The problem isn't that AI wrote it, it's that you misrepresented it as more trustworthy than it is.

"Move fast and break things" is a commons-burning position, it has reputational and social costs that the person doing it doesn't fully pay. Misrepresenting your thing you haven't read a line of as ready for production is burning the commons. MongoDB ultimately recovered from its early marketing.

I still remember sitting in a room right after the MongoDB Jepsen report came out, with some distsys friends. We printed it out, grabbed some alcoholic beverages, and read it in a big conference call.

Today's wasted hours were on much newer hardware, but again, Sonoma OS: Macbook Pro M2—

mongodb-community-7 needs node 26, which uses some nouveau C++ fuckery (simdutf) that can't build w Sonoma's clang; there's no workaround; you have to upgrade MacOS.

SOL if your machine won't run clang 19 guff

I complain about software obsolescence because it truly is bullshit. My current situation is typical.

I need PHP 8.4.x. This depends (Homebrew) on Python 3.15. CPython decided (improbably) that they now need TCO in the compiler → means clang > 16.0.0 → means a MacOS update from Sonoma to Sequoia…
