‘Not down here,’ my mind pleading once again. I gripped my weighted chest with my hand. Beneath my breast my heart pulsed as the wings of a tiny bird fluttering desperate for escape. I’m not quite sure whom my thought was addressing. As I’ve said, I’ve never been a religious man, but my Ma, who was the smartest person I had ever known, had taught me that one can be spiritual without the need for religion. “A man can worship creation without having to believe in that supposedly holy book, Rosco,” I recall her saying. “Those words are the words of men, the teachings of men, and while they do have value and wisdom at times, they are not ‘the gospel’ some would claim them to be.” She spoke of the wind, the water, the land and the air, and how all are rich in spirituality. She did not question the existence of what she called a “higher power, a guiding light,” but stressed, to my youthful ears, that we see this power everyday in everything that surrounds us, “more so than any book could ever capture. The essence of ‘God’ is in each of us Rosco, just as it is in every living thing,” she had said. this is a weirdly hostile response. how traumatic an experience can "some people who i don't know assume i like richard dawkins when i say an atheist" be, in the grand scheme of ways reigion can be traumatic?

Yay, the first posted #fakemon line for my new region! The Lonlei Region is not for a game or anything, it is derived from the word 'lonely' and it is a catch-all region for all my fakemon ideas, whether it is silly or serious.

This is a turkey line I've always wanted to make.
Lonlei Reigion: Squabell, the Dinner Bell Pokemon. Normal/Flying type. Dex entry: It emits a ringing noise from its head-piece when it finds food to alert others of its kind to come eat. They also ring the bell when there is danger. Lonlei Region: Clucken, the Patron pokemon. Normal/Flying type. Dex entry: They have a voracious appetite, but are also very picky about what they eat. Food contests use Clucken as Judges. Lonlei Region: Gobbelore, the chef Pokemon. Normal/Flying type. Dex Entry: They naturally create food that Clucken love, and people love their food too. There are many restaurants dedicated to Cobbelore as chefs.

Don't get me wrong though they were still often irredeemably insufferable, including how they would say stuff like "you know Jesus was a witch and our reigion is a lot like Christianity" while being something like Wiccans or whatever.

Thats just bs and is only used by people when they cant defend their religion. Nope reigion is evil and litteraly pit one group of people against others. They always have and always will. Religion is a tool used by the powerful to supress the masses.
