Large numbers of data graphical innovations involve Tukey, one way or another, e.g. PRIM-9 and the idea of EDA. So that might be a good thread to pull.

Also from the 70s, Leland Wilkinson and the 'Grammar of Graphics' (an actual book), which still has, afaik, SYSTAT, SPSS, and R implementations.

Migration of tons of data from spinning rust to spinning rust in process.
Screenshot showing output of the FreeBSD command gstat command with a 2 second interval while data received from another machine over the network is stored on this machines hard disks. The data is stored on 10 SATA HDDs (shown beside 2 NVMEe drives) and the output shows all 10 HDD being busy at 90% and higher. I/O operations per second varies between around 200 ops/s on the low end almost 1400 on the upper end between the drives. Throughput per drive is around 225 MiB/sec on average. Output of the BSD command "systat -ifstat" with a 2 second interval. The data shown is for two network interfaces: Interface "igb1" as the management interface has little traffic. The second interface is "cc1", showing incoming traffic at the time of the screenshot at 8.455 Gigabit per second, a peak of 9.389 Gigabit/sec since the beginning of the data transfer and a total amount of data received (at the time) of 34.165 TB.

That second one is quite easily found online if people want to look. Multidimensional scaling model using a ratio-scale matrix (table of attribute %s) and Systat w/Guttman MDS algorithm (Wallace 2004:53-56), so it is not that I am opposed to such things in seriation and type definition.
