🔬 Preferred orientation is a familiar challenge in #cryoEM, but can smarter data processing help overcome it?

While developing Automated Workflow v2 in #CryoSPARC, we explored how different particle picking and curation strategies could help address this challenge. 👉 cryosparc.com/blog/automat...

In the latest CryoSPARC Blog we walk through the key processing strategies to handle preferred orientation in the tested #EMPIAR datasets. These steps resulted in a smaller, more balanced particle stack, showing that retaining more particles doesn't necessarily translate into a better reconstruction

Are you using a software for one particular part of your pipeline and jumping through hoops to port it into #Relion or #CryoSparc? Let me know! Let's wrap it into a streamlined Relion based pipeline. #IsoNet2 and #DeepETPicker already integrated so end-to-end tomography is ready. Picking and all
#TeamTomo, if you're not using #Relion for #cryoET aka #tomography maybe you should be
AND! if you want more flexibility in your pipeline and a way to schedule jobs so you can work faster, now you can

By processing data as it is collected, CryoSPARC Live can help you:

🔹 Evaluate data quality and adjust acquisition parameters when needed.

🔹 Estimate how much #cryo-EM data to collect.

🔹 Run preprocessing alongside data transfer, while starting particle picking and curation on the fly.
