Now that is what I call a week! I mean, most weeks are, obviously, weeks, but that one was pretty special. Firstly - only three days in work. Bonus. They were long days, admittedly, but worth it, for the freedom and laughter the end of the week brought. Because the weather was moderately kind, I even managed a few walks before work too, and it was lovely to see that the Swan's eggs finally hatched with the little fuzzies cygnets putting in a brief appearance or two. Not so much that I managed to get any decent pics - they were still all in the nest - but hope to remedy that in the week ahead…

Well, I did it. I actually managed to write 2025 for the first five days of the month, including in preparing this post. There is hope for this old dog yet. Well ... maybe not hope, but I still like to think of it as an achievement. Nothing exciting happened this week. I went for a walk or two. I fed the swans.

What a way to end a week. Just back from Capital Crime and it was an absolute blast. Some brilliant panels featuring fabulous authors, talking about their even more fabulous books. We started off in style with an afternoon tea on the Thursday, took in a couple of shows while in the city - The Devil Wears Prada and Titanique, both highly recommended - and may have returned home with a couple of extra books, and it was only a couple. I do have a lot more on the wish list now though so watch this space over the coming weeks I guess.

February is nearly over. How is that a thing? I mean, I’m happy about it. Holiday season looming and all that. But still. Hitting a bit of a manic patch at work, covering two jobs whilst recruitment continues for a colleagues well deserved retirement so no idea what that will do to my energy or concentration on reading but, hey. That is life.

And there we have it. Easter over (well all bar the shouting and consumption of left over chocolate/scramble for cheap eggs at the supermarkets), and April well on its way to reaching its conclusion. Had a pretty good week to be fair as I was only in work for two days. Wednesday off to go and see Kinky Boots in Brum (yes - again) and then pretty much shopping, lazing, reading and exercising (less of the latter) for the remainder of the weekend.

Well, that's it then. March officially ends today, the clocks have jumped forward an hour, spring has (allegedly) sprung, and Q2 starts tomorrow. Who'd a thunk it, right? This year is passing all too quickly, but that is no bad thing. I was on training all of last week, staying down in Weymouth. It's a long old drive from where I live, but it was nice being back by the coast.
