For #FascinatingFriday, we’re honouring Rossland legend Gary Camozzi (1950–2021)! 🎿✨
A brilliant scholar & self-described "ski-yogi," Gary was famous for direct mountain descents & lived in the local forests for 20 years. We hold his helmet & goggles in our collection!

Image 1 (2022.18.1): A studio photograph of a glossy bright yellow ski helmet shown in profile. The helmet shows light surface scratches and scuffs from use, with black ear padding featuring ventilation holes and a black adjustable chin strap. Image 2 (2022.18.2): A studio photograph of a pair of modified ski glasses or goggles with clear plastic frames and dark upper rim lining. Small corrective lens pieces or tape patches are attached directly to the main lenses, and a thick, light-coloured braided textile neck cord is tied through the temple pieces.

A black-and-white photograph showing a pipe band marching down a snow-lined street in Rossland during a winter parade. In the background stands the wooden, false-front Montreal Hotel building featuring a sign that reads "O.K. STORE" and "FRESH 7up GROCERY CONFECTIONS". Snow-dusted hillsides and neighbouring buildings rise in the distance. An early black-and-white elevated view of Columbia Avenue in Rossland. The two-storey wooden Montreal Hotel building stands prominently in the centre with its distinct stepped, gabled false front, flanked by adjacent commercial storefronts along an unpaved street lined with utility poles.
