#Otodusmegalodon (/ˈmɛɡələdɒn/ MEG-əl-ə-don; meaning "big tooth"), commonly known as megalodon, is an extinct species of giant \ shark that lived approximately 23 to 3.58 million years ago (Mya), from the Early Miocene to the #EarlyPliocene epochs

The #OtodusMegalodon has been extinct for 3.6 million years. O. Megalodon is the largest predatory shark on record and swam off the coast of what would become #NovaScotia. Fossil evidence suggests it primarily preyed on #whales, #dolphins, and large #marinemammals.
