Synalyze It! Pro

I've tried a bunch of hex-editors, but I've never found one that visually makes as much sense to me as Synalyze It! Its built-in grammar for "syntax highlighting" in hex can really help with doing retroprogramming/decomp work. Wish more hex editors had it.

READYCode can now show you a list of (BASIC and Assembly) syntax errors in your code without having to run it first. I'm loving this feature!

Mike Dailly (of Lemmings and GTA fame) has written a Tetris clone for the #zxspectrumnext in #pascal using my PASTA/80 compiler. How cool is that? :) The source code is on Github now, the accompanying articles are available on his Patreon. Check them out!

The (German-language) book "LISP - Anwendungsgebiete, Grundbegriffe, Geschichte" (LISP - Applications, Fundamentals, History)

https://doi.org/10.1515/9783112563724

is an unusual compilation of pre-1980 LISP dialects.

Added the article on how Exiles physics work to my breakdown and recreation website: bbcexile.com (direct link to article is bbcexile.com/how-exile-wo...).

Lots of interactive demos showing how things work alongside the source and explanations.

Game Engine White Papers: Commander Keen came in the mail today... and now the GitHub repo is gone and you can't order it on Amazon anymore. And then I saw this: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4855...
Looks like it was more than just a nod to Fabien Sanglard's books after all...

Turns out, taking a month‑long break in the middle of rewriting an assembly routine wasn't my brightest idea.
The code kinda works, but also not quite. There are breakpoints set in the IDE, but no comments. What the hell was I thinking? Stupid is as stupid does, I guess

The person who did this Norbert Kehrer seems to be around on Bluesky and releasing some cool retroprogramming stuff: bsky.app/profile/norb...
I wrote an emulator of Atari's 1981 arcade game Centipede running on the Atari 800XL. The original game program is directly executed on the home computer. The video hardware is simulated in software. You can get the program and read more at: norbertkehrer.github.io/centipede_a8...

Have you ever thought about running Windows 1 or Windows 2 on real hardware? And creating native applications on it? Are you crazy? Insane in the memory lane?
