#SciComs
#SciComs people out there, please help me out!!!

I've read somewhere that it's better to create your scicoms from a positive perspective (inspire folks, communicate with hope) rather than from a negative angle (scare folks, communicate with fear). What is the term for this principle? Source?

Hi! I am looking for a marine biologist or scientist who could confirm if the Reflectin protein is also expressed in octopus lamellae not only squid and cuttlefish?

Trying to expand my understanding of iridescence in 🐙

I was at the other place since almost the beginning and I have been mourning a loss of community for a while. Wonderful humans have convinced me to hop on over to the blue side. Looking for other #archaeology folks but also #womeninscience #pubarch #scicoms & #geospatial folks to follow. Hit me up!

Any (legitimate) criticism of Blue Origin aside, it's good to see an all woman crew launched on a rocket!

As a wean I was so buzzed following Helen Sharman's mission

Idiots told me I shouldn't have been, because it was a woman

In space SciComs- encourage girls!

At one point there was a sizable science communications community here. If you’re still around, here’s a great undergraduate internship opportunity. #science #scicoms ewvl.fa.us8.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/Candid...

This took six months, and due to the way they had to push the retraction to 1 error, the retraction might not have addressed the core issues the archaeological community were appalled by, but it was the best way to achieve the full retraction #icap2025 #ethics #publishing #scicoms #pseudoarchaeology

Indeed. Good SciComs can only do so much. It's hard to blame the gardener when there are vandals planting knotweed every knight (if you'll forgive my slightly tortured metaphor)

Still think the strauňott fallaĉy covers it better. If they go peusudo-low, we invent gibberį§h as mental self defence. (I know, bigger man, SciComs, ethics in debunking...trying to be on the good side is tedious...🫡)
