#osteocyte
🧪🔬🦴 This is an #Osteocyte

It lives in #bone and reaches out to #implants and #biomaterials through cellular extensions [ * ]

It frequently talks to other osteocytes and orchestrates bone remodelling

Be like the Osteocyte =)

#2025SVP @gruiformabi.bsky.social: Can avian medullary bone be distinguished from osteopetrosis in micro-CT scans? Yes! Differ in distribution, isotropy, trabecular thickness, orientation of osteocyte lacunae, etc. However, there’s variation in medullary bone structure as well.

a, Schematic illustrating mild TBI (mTBI), DCTAL, and behavioral tests. This figure was created using FigDraw. b, c, Return time (b) and total time (c) in the pole test of the mTBI mice treated with DCTAL (4 N, 300 cycles, 2 Hz, five times per week, 1 week). n = 10 biologically independent mice per group. Return time: SHAM versus mTBI, P = 0.0143; mTBI versus mTBI + LOAD, P = 0.0143. Total time, SHAM versus mTBI, P = 0.0007; mTBI versus mTBI + LOAD, P = 0.0213. X axis: Experimental groups (SHAM, mTBI, mTBI + LOAD). d, Representative images of the swim paths of TBI mice in each group after removal of the platform (memory phase). Groups: SHAM, mTBI and mTBI + LOAD. e, f, Spatial memory was assessed on day 6 of MWM testing during a probe trial (platform was removed). The number of platform crossings (e) and time spent in the target quadrant (f) were quantified in the mTBI mice treated with DCTAL n = 10 biologically independent mice per group.
