#ReviewerTip: Compare the abstract and conclusion with the results.

If the language becomes more certain than the evidence allows, point out exactly where the interpretation goes too far.

Save this for your next review.

The reviewer’s job is not to demand perfect data. It is to check whether the uncertainty has been handled honestly.

What makes you most cautious when you see missing data in a manuscript?

You are reviewing a manuscript and notice all four:

• Unsupported conclusion
• Unclear sampling
• Inconsistent terminology
• Missing references

What would you raise first in the report, and why?

Curious to see how Reviewers prioritize them.

Some review decisions are harder when you have no one to compare notes with.

#Peerreviewers need a place to learn from examples, discuss common challenges, and build confidence without compromising confidentiality.

And yet somehow most of them: they're just a list of the 'prestigious' universities they used to work at and the prizes they have won, without a clue what they actually work on.

(does it show I've been uselessly looking at bios of many to figure out if they might be useful peerreviewers?)
