Probe-dependent Proximity Profiling (ProPPr) Uncovers Similarities and Differences in Phospho-Tau-Associated Proteomes Between Tauopathies - Molecular Neurodegeneration
Background Tauopathies represent a diverse group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the abnormal aggregation of the microtubule-associated protein tau. Despite extensive research, the mec...

Massive paper alert: We performed extensive profiling of PI-2620 for 4R tauopathies. PI-2620 tau PET signals in PSP stem from neuronal and oligodendroglial tau, not astrocytes. Signals correlate with fibrillary tau, autoradiography, and autopsy data in PSP

RFK Jr cannot be confirmed IMHO.

Everything in his resumé disqualifies him. He has no medical knowledge or credentials and was already responsible for 83 deaths from measles. For those who survived measles, it is known that measles infections can cause tauopathies later in life.

We identified TRAPPC8 as an endogenous brake on UFMylation via direct binding of UBA5. Loss of this brake disrupts lysosomal function and drives tau propagation. Restoration rescues this effect in vivo—revealing it as a potential therapeutic target for tauopathies.

5/5 In summary, SNHG8 and FAM151B‑DT play complementary roles in tauopathies: SNHG8 limits stress granules that drive tau aggregation, while FAM151B‑DT enhances clearance of toxic proteins, opening new paths for understanding and treating tau-related disease. 🧫🔬🧐
